there is no price drop that has been announced 2 reasons

1. if there was one they would have said it yesterday

2. there is a 3 year warranty and i bet M$ wants to break even with it given

but hey they can still announce it but i doubt it

edit just read that they claim "its on the table" so if they get into trouble down the road they will drop the price.

I have the ad right in my hand here $100 price drop on PS3 and then Xbox 360 followed. Perhaps they did not do it in your area? The CEO's of both companies said NAY till the last second but it happened.

The PS3 had a price drop, not the 360. Do you have an ad for the 360 price drop?

Ah sorry for the confusion that is mostly due to bad "grammer" on my part P. It was leaked to me buy one of the managers at the local Best Buy. It will be dropping soon at least in my store.

I've seen the 7/15 BB flier(as well as Target's, Toys R US, and Circuit City's) and saw no mention of a 360 price drop 0_o

Again it wasn't in the BB ad just told to me it could be false information you really can't believe everything your hear. I should of put "RUMOR" in my subject line i'm starting to think i've dug a hole that I can't climb out of.

Some trade journals and CNN have reported that the 360 will drop $50, to $249 for the Core, $349 for the Premium. Not sure if the Elite was included. But at this point MS hasn't confirmed it AFAIK.

60gb ps3 is 499 and 80gb ps3 + motorstorm is 599. I am watching the ps3 thing right now on Gamespot and "Tretton returns to the stage to reiterate the new 80gb PS3 model and the price drop for the original 60gb version, sales of which have doubled at a number of retailers since Monday's announcement."

[quote7e47a8965c]Microsoft needs to lower Xbox's prices, ranging from $299 to $479, to increase sales and lure customers who aren't interested in traditional combat and racing video games, Shane Kim, vice president of Microsoft Game Studios, said in an interview. He declined to say when a price cut may be announced. It won't happen at this week's E3 games conference, he said.

"We need to compete effectively for that customer and part of that is getting to the mass market price point for the console,'' said Kim. "We definitely are working on that area.''

"A price cut would give the Xbox 360 an advantage over its rivals, particularly in North America where you have a choice of consoles to play the same game,'' said Etsuko Tamura, an analyst at Mizuho Investors Securities Co. in Tokyo. "There's a lack of Xbox titles in Japan so a price cut here would have no effect.''[/quote7e47a8965c]

I expect to see a price drop announcement right before the holiday season begins.
