Who's sending their Xbox 360 back to get repaired for free?

I am, just waiting on the box...When they say tampering will void the warranty, is that mearly opening the case or adding and removing hardware, etc? I opened mine up to do the X-Clamp repair but never removed anything, just unscrewed some stuff...

Im sure opening is tampering - though I had opened mine when I sent it in and they still fixed it for free.

I suppose just make sure it looks like you didn't fuck with it.

Yea, mine broke, then my credit company gave me 200 dollars to either pay for the repair or buy a new one, but, I had a coupon and all these other things to make th 360 core like 240 at Target, so, I just bought that. So, I have the broken out of warranty one, and I called on saturday and am now wwaiting on my box )

Meaning he did open the xbox or he did send it back? The only reason I opened it was becasue I was paassed the original warranty and the 3 yr warranty wasn't anounced yet...I am poor and did not have $140+ to send microsoft to fix it. I did not modification, just opened the xbox...There isn't a sticker that says "void" or something when u open it?

I just sent mine yesterday because of the "Rings of Death". I hope to get it back soon.

I opened one of mine to do the X-clamp also. I just sent that one and another back last week. So one I had opened, one I had not. I will let you know when I hear anything from them.

they didn't somehow make it noticeable that you opened it? I remember when I modded my lieditli ps2 lieditli that there were labels over screws and whatnot. I'm really surprised MS doesn't do that also.

On the original xbox one of the case screws was under a warning sticker that when removed branded "void" where the sticker once was, thus voiding any warranty you might have had. Of course replacment stickers where easy to come by allowing you to cover up the fact that you opened your xbox.

I don't know if the 360 is the same way but I would assume it is. If you had to remove a sticker to open your xbox chances are you voided your warranty. Wether or not they will actually refuse to repair it is probably unlikely.

They received mine June 29th. Still haven't gotten it back yet. Take longer nerds, srsly.

I heard the new standard is 4 - 6 weeks, so plan on waiting longer. I think they are actually repairing your own console instead of sending you someone else's refurb. one, and they may actually put that new heat sink and whatnot in it. Hope you get it back soon man.

I just got mine back about two weeks ago. You should have it this week. You can track it from UPS with the reference number. (IMO) It shouldve been sent out by now.

I sent mine back June 14 and I am still waiting. When I called they said since they are now backed up it's gonna take 4-6 weeks. It was not a ring of death, the console just stopped working. It was from launch.

XBOX just called me personally and told me my XBOX will be back tomorrow. Thing is UPS also called and left a message stating I have to be here and sign for it, guess what. I go on vacation tomorrow for a convention...

You can leave a note saying you absolve UPS and Microsoft of liability and they have your permission to leave it, then have a neighbor hold it for you or something.

Wait, so why did a company give you 200 dollars? Are they insurance?

BTW, I'm sending mine in today, got the box yesterday, it would be awesome if my xbox and i-deal check came in on the same day, both are 4-6 weeks.

Mine has a few marks where you can tell the back was removed...Nothing else was touched, no mods and nothing added/removed...I ahould be ok, right? The only reason I opened it was to see if it would run cooler with more airflow...

I just got mine today and it came with a 1 month too. I think it's also a brand new system because it had all the freshness stickers and such. I'm not complaining, mine had cosmetic damage.

I got a call too when they returned mine.

Mine just died today. Currently on hold with their customer service (its been like 20 minutes).

Microsoft recieved my system on July 13, today I got the email saying it has shipped. That's great, but I leave on Sunday for a vacation and won't be back until August 9th. The UPS tracking number says it will arrive on Monday. What the heck should I do???

Got a neighbor or family member that can hold it for you? Sometimes they'll go next door if the person isn't home.

You could leave a note saying you release them of liability and have someone come get it for you.

I called ups and they said that if I'm not there the first three tries they will hold if for 5 days so I am going to try to find someone who can go pick it up at UPS during the 5 day hold.

mine died 2 weeks ago. fixed it myself yesterday and its all working now )

Okay, got one of my Xbox's back yesterday. Dunno if it was in return for the one I had opened or the one I had not opened, so guess I gotta wait for my second xbox to find out if both returned fixed or if the warranty was voided. Should be 3-4 days for the second one.

I thought everyone knew about the 360 problems. Thats why they extended the warranty to 3 years b/c they were getting so many 360s being sent back including mine. evil

If you have one that is working, thank the heavens and keep it. Even if they give you the one with the new GPU heatsink, it still might break before your current one.

yea if you send in ur working 360 they will just send you a defective 360. even though microsoft knows what the problem is they are still using x-clamps.
