To all those who live in/near NYC... i need subway/bus HELP

I live in rockland county, NY... my friend just came from where i used to live in Miami to visit his cousins in Crown Heights Brooklyn...

What would be the most efficient bussing or subway usage to get him either to rockland county... OR somewhere closer to the GW bridge...
