It's an announcement (news story) about a new rumor that Apple will unveil colored iPods next week, in the same hues as the iPod Mini.

The iPod mini's getting a facelift as well, with a color screen and a 5 or 6GB hard drive

Color screen is cool. I dont see an extra gig being a huge deal.

For some it is. Remember, the iPod shuffle is 1GB. You can get a spray painted iPod, go to http//www.colorware.com, they paint your iPod so it looks professional for you.

Wow, cool. I've always wished they made color 20/40 GB iPods.

LizM, they most likely will replace the normal 4GB iPod mini, and therefore go on the Gratis freeipods.com site. Just a possibility. And the colorful iPods would probably replace the normal 20GB.

Who needs colored Ipods, you still got to buy a case to protect it, so just get a colored case.

I dunno about anyone else, but I intend to get one of those lajo exo cases for my non-existent-as-yet iPod, whom I've affectionately dubbed "Fluffy." Fluffy will have both a lilac pearl case and a bubblegum case to protect her and express her various moods. Fluffy's natural white state will lend itself perfectly to these cases. If she were already colored, it might taint the purity of the bubblegum color found in lajo's artfully designed cases.

The color screen is ok, but ut is not neccessary at all. Unless you want to view the album art??? But all i really want is to see the song name and artist. Does anyone know if the color screens will demand a higher price???

I would say yes, color lcd screens cost more to produce, so expect to see a price increase.

Hard to gage what the price will be, mini's are 250 now, I would guess maybe new price of 300 to 350
