A couple of days ago I went to Quiznos to get a sandwich and authorized a signature for 6.59 (I put in 0 for the tip because its a fucking fast food place). I checked my balance just now and they charged 7.90. I am planning on going up there tomorrow during peak times and confronting the manager (he is the one that rung me up!) with my receipt and bank statement. My question is Is there anything that the BBB can do? This has happened before at Macaroni Grill where they added an extra dollar to the tip thinking that I would not notice.

lmao..come on a dollar tip /...but hey authorized charging is wrong..i would even bother with a BB complaint..just go to the place and causes a scene

It could also be the finance charge that the vendor (Quiznos) is charged. I've noticed that the AM/PMs around here, charge $.75 per transaction.

A lot of places charge part of the fee THEY are charged to the customer. Usually, if you spend more than $10, they don't charge you...

I would gladly pay $7.90 for a Quizmo sandwich (considering my living circumstances).

Personally, I wouldn't cause a scene about it or waste my time filing a complaint with the BBB... Though I would probably point out the charges to the manager the next time I went to the restaurant.. They might even give you a free sandwich if it was a mistake.

I don't know if I'd go to the BBB over that. I would take it up with the store though, and expect a refund [i93be2f9e8f]and[/i93be2f9e8f] maybe a dollar off another sandwich.

If you feel they are doing it to everyone, then you can always write down the name of the franchise owner and store number (They post a certificate with that on the wall behind the register) and call 1-866.4TOASTED. shrug

EDIT Just wanted to add that just because it's fast food doesn't mean you always shouldn't tip. This isn't like McDonald's where everyone is treated the same. Made to order meals can be generous, or skimpy, depending on the person serving you. When a sandwich is made well, you should at least thank the guy, if not tip him personally. (Don't pull a Castanza) ;)

Just a few days ago I went to Baskin Robbins and ordered a waffle cone. The last time I did at another loacation, they gave me one scoop for the stated price. This guy gave me [i93be2f9e8f]three[/i93be2f9e8f]. Of course I tipped him, and plan to go back once I'm off my sugar high. )

Also, they might charge more for verification purposes by adding another $1, just like how the "free offers" charge a $1 that you get back. I remember going to a pizza place and ordering a pie, and I was charged $3 more. I had called them and they said it was an included verification charge and that it'll go away once the transaction is officially completed. Also, don't get so overworked over a dollar, lol.

Don't feel bad. The deli in my office building charged me $65 for a $6 lunch. It's been a week and I listillli haven't gotten the auth removed.

I had a similar experience once and what happened was once the charge changed from pending to posted, it reflected the proper amount. When they preauthorize the charge, they preauth a little extra in case you want to tip. Don't freak out yet.

make sure and bitch to a manger, and get the person that did that to you fired.

Did what to him? How do you know that the extra isn't just from an authorization? Yeah, lets get something fired over possibly overcharging you a dollar. Wait and see how the charge goes in a week, and if you did get overcharged, just go in and talk to a manager.

Heaven forbid a clerk possibly make a mistake. Lucky for you you're perfect.

Actually, it was the manager that rang me up. I do not care about the dollar. It's the principle of the thing. I'll do as some of you say and wait for the transaction to change from "pending" so that I do not make an ass of myself if I do go up there.

If they tack on a fee for ATM charge, they are obligated to notify you.

yeah dude it's completely automatic for cc charges at dining establishments to authorize for (amount li 1.2) to ensure that there is at least room on the card for a 20% tip.

6.59 li 1.2 = 7.908

it'll drop down to 6.59 when it posts in a couple days

Happens to me everytime I dine out now, it posts correctly, I was a little pissed about it before I knew what it was too because of the principle of the thing, but it worked out in the end

Well you guys want to get back at them? I have never tried it but my friend did....

For this to work, you need two different people to make your sandwich and to ring you up..

Order any kind of your sandwich! when someone differently ring you up, and if they ask you what you have... say "Sandwich of the day" which cost like $3.00 D

And it has to be really busy D

Have you read the thread?

He wasn't overcharged, it was an authorization for 1.2 li the order cost. Once the actual transaction posts, it will be for the correct amount.

Secondly, we don't welcome posts that promote stealing.
