Hey guys im selling some 360 games on ebay and was wanting to know what kind of box to send em in? Priority mail btw.

Also at the post office there were these boxes nearly perfect but the game is too wide and makes the lip /\ a bit. Do you guys think that would be ok?

Use jiffy packs...not boxes.
Less to ship b/c they're smaller.

Actually yeah...it's basically an oversized, flattened bags...

If you're sending it by some way other than USPS, turn them inside out, and then tape the flap instead of just using the applied adhesive strip.

That's a Federal crime. I don't recommend it.

If you're sending them priority mail why pay for a box or a bag? Use the FREE priority mail boxes. Did I mention they are FREE?

Use the larger box if the smaller one is too small. Just be sure not to get a flat rate box since your game is less than 1 pound. And bring some newspaper or something to stuff in the box so the game won't shake too much.

Oh, and by the way, these boxes are free.

You can even order a box of 20 from USPS for free so you can prepare them at home. That's what I did.

Jiffy bags & others are at least $0.50 if not $1.00 or more. Only use them if you are NOT shipping priority mail.

I agree with cubbieco, you may also find the bags at dollar stores, I have.

How's that...[/quote914abb1ea1]it's a felony to use usps priority mail supplies for shipping via any method other than priority mail.

Take it to the post office or UPS or wherever. They will give you the forms you need to fill out, etc.

Package in plain brown or white paper - it makes it easier to deal with.

I've sold many CDs and DVDs on ebay and I'd say use those padded envelopes even if you are using priority mail. The large priority boxes are way too large for a DVD case and it'll be a pain in the ass to fill it with so much padding. You can probably get 3 for a dollar at a dollar store and you won't have to put in a lot of filler like you would with the priority box.

Also consider using first class mail instead of priority in the future, it's almost as fast and you'll save a couple of bucks. You can use media mail too but you don't save that much money and it is definitely slower. Whatever you choose, you can get delivery confirmation with any shipping method if you ship through paypal.

You mean by printing out the lables?? Do I need sticker paper?

hehehhehe

21-06-2007 09:53:57

Just print them out on regular paper and get a glue stick to stick them on. I also tape the label on the edges.

Thanks guys for the big help!

If you don't want to buy the padded envelopes and are using a box that is entirely too big (like I have) wrap the game in a little paper then tape it inside the box with strapping paper. The game won't move. The paper protects the game with tape, and you don't have to pay extra for an envelope or padding.

hehehhehe

22-06-2007 14:29:22

If you have to use priority, they also have flat rate priority envelopes you can pick up at the PO. They'd be easier to deal with than the big boxes.

Ideally though, 1st class mail+padded envelope is the cheapest and pretty fast like I said.

By something with padding. Coming from a sorter at a major shipping company, we don't care about your package in the least bit. "Fragile" and orientation arrows mean nothing.
