Northern
You have a Northern accent. That could either be the Chicago/Detroit/Cleveland/Buffalo accent (easily recognizable) or the Western New England accent that news networks go for.

How else do you say it?
It has two O's just like foot, so why should it be any different.
Now that I think about it, some people that make fun of the way I talk I've noticed they say Foot - Fut (like but). Boak for book. Hat for hot.

some parts of WV are really hicky. like, close-by parts. i dunno about where Jkirk lives (forget the town right now...) but we're not really hicky around here.
i used to work for netzero, and it seemed like everyone would ask where i'm from 'cause of my (supposed ;)) accent, and while a lot of people would guess somewhere in the south, i actually got a lot of others guessing that i was from texas... dunno why...

I've heard people say that scottish accents are especially easy to understand as long as it's not too strong. I used to work with a lot of scottish and didn't have any problems.
It's harder to read text after it goes through the translator, kinda like reading trainspotting.

Wow, you've actually read it (not being sarcastic, but most people only watch the film). When I first read the book I found it impossible to read, because even though that's how I spoke when growing up, we were (obviously) taught to read and write correctly.

Surprisingly I've got a Midland accent...although the only places I've lived in the US are CA, PA, NJ and CO. Since I grew up overseas and had no accent at all when I came here, I picked up accents wherever I lived. I guess when you mash up East Coast and West Coast accents, you get Midland! wink
