I keep getting this stupid popup from internet explorer when I am not even running it, I use firefox, I turn on popup blockers in IE and uninstalled any adware or anything remotely causing this to happen.

So since the freeipodguide is in the link I thought I would ask if anyone knows why
url.cpvfeed.com/cpv.jsp?p=110830&ip=206.255.76.218&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.freeipodguide.com%F&selectedKeyword=ron&selectedListingId=6250292

every five minutes it pops up and the page is blank

any clues on how to get rid of it, I could do a restore I know but there are reasons I would rather not.

Here you go, I had the same thing

1. Restart your computer in safe mode.
2. Search for 'core.sys' and delete it.
3. Search for 'core.cache.dsk' and delete it.
4. Run 'regedit' and go to Local_Machine>System>current control set>services>core. Delete the folder called 'core'.

Restart your computer again, then go to www.kaspersky.com/virusscanner

Then you should be all fixed.

Oh thank you, where did it come from, I knew it was a dang bug sure could not squash it though.

How did you figure that out.

It started happening to me, and I don't know why ... but I'm just very good at computers. Plus, I compiled the answer from a few places. I don't know the cause, though. shrug

You might want to un-url-ify that link in the OP. It might make an unknowing IE user get the same problem -/

Are you in safe mode? You can only delete the files in safe mode.

download Spybot S&D, CCleaner, and AdAware. Install them, and run each one separately, one of them should help to solve your problem.

Are you still using IE?

Get FireFox if you are.

ajasax's post said that it might give [b20df1b5ccd]another IE user[/b20df1b5ccd] the same problem, so I was confused.

All 4 of the products listed (the 3 cleaners and Firefox) are good to have and use regularly.

Thank you and you are right none of those will get rid of it not even the one with the weird name that you said in the first reply. ugh, dang there is goes again, and yet I did it in safe mode but will try again after running the antivirus program that found 84 other bugs lol. Least all those are gone thank you.

FliliK sorry, but I am annoyed... I found the core folder and deleted it in safe mode and it seemed to have been affiliated with AIM6.0 because now AIM will not load, but that darn popup is still there. OMG am I gonna have to format...

Well I right clicked on the blank page that came up again just now, this address was at the very top of the source code when I right click on the page to view source; http//www.w3.org/TR/html4/loose.dtd and you go there, I just get more confused. (

OMG am I gonna have to format...[/quote5fc63ff84b]No, it isn't associated with AIM, because I still use AIM even after deleting that folder. Also, it isn't recommended to double post (or in this case, triple post...that's what the edit button is for).

Did you do all the things that I said to do in my first post? If you did them in any way that wasn't in safe mode, or changed anything else that I didn't list, that could be the reason you are still facing problems.
