It Was 40 Years Ago Today

40 years ago today one of the greatest albums of all time was released with probably one of the most famous and recognisable album covers to this day.

I just listened to Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band for the first time in a while and I forgot how fucking tight it was. It's still original, innovative, fresh and is almost untouchable in terms of influence on not only other artists but music itself and it's progression.

Check it out if you haven't heard of it before or listened to it for a while.

I believe David was 27 when this album was released, so can you remember what it was like David? ;)

God, I LOVE the Beatles...first heard them when I was 11 and couldn't believe what I was hearing! Now, 24 years later, I sing their songs to my kids at bedtime, play their songs on piano, just couldn't imagine my life without their music. Happy 40th, Sgt. Pepper!!! D

Definitely the greatest album ever released. The Beatles all found their true colors and every contribution was just a masterpiece. You gotta love the amazing album art, too.
