Just wondering if anyone has had any SERIOUS problems with their ipod?? I was reading some reviews for both apple and HP and quite a few said that their ipods have died or locked up requiring $100 to fix it. Has this happened to anyone before?? And also, what is the final verdict,

HP or Apple???

THanks

i had it with my original ipod from 2001....a simple reboot fixes it.

how do you reboot?

Not always.

Also, be careful cleaning your iPod. I once used too much alcohol when cleaning the clickwheel, and it stopped working for an hour or so.

Don't want to think what would've happened if I had used water. o

Press, and hold, the center, and play buttons at the same time until the Apple logo appears.

When I first got mine it froze and I got all freaked out. But I did the thing that Tholek said. But he forgot to add that before you press and hold the center button and the play button, you have to toggle the hold switch.

Hmm, you don't usually need to touch that unless it's on hold before you do a reset.

Oh, that's just what this guy from Apple told me.
