I just watched a trailer of a documentary by Aron Russo the Film-maker.

"Where is "THE LAW" that states paying income taxes on wages is legal?"
Was the question Aron Russo set out to find an answer to and opened up a can of worms in the search.

I thought I would share it in case someone else would like to see it what he came up with.

"The Shocking Truth is viewed here The Free Internet Version of Aron Russo's Documentary Film Opening in Theatre's".

Old news. All hype.

Question What exactly is "truth"?
Answer Something that somebody said once.

Old News ? So is history.. but history repeats itself.

The movie is proof paying income taxes on our wages is illegal why would any one want to pay income tax on your wages? If if was voluntary would you still pay taxes on your wages?

You have to see the movie to understand the difference

This is here for those that wish to see the proof and watch the movie. Not to debate it.

It's the 16th ammendment to the Constitution.

Yes I know about the 16th amendment and it is in the documentary where is was used to rule in favor of a not guilty verdict in a supreme court case.

Well, I'm not going to watch the movie, since I left my tinfoil hat at home.

Can you explain why it's illegal?

LOL, gotta love conspiracy theorists of the internet age, where you can spread completely unfounded hysteria and hype with a click of a button. And the saddest thing is the people that take it face value only because they [i03cb9be762]want[/i03cb9be762] it to be true. The very ones who admonish us not to be "sheep" of the government, are often themselves sheep of their own fellow conspirators. lol

Consider this hypothetical situation

There are no taxes.

Your children are running around illiterate because there are no schools because there is no funding. There aren't even any private schools because there's no state oversight.

On your way to work you notice there's a new mudhole in the dirt track through the weeds. You grumble that "they" ought to fix the roads. But wait - there are no roads. No streets, no highways, no railroads, no airports. Nothing.

At lunchtime you need to mail a letter. You go to the post office. It's not there. The postal service does not exist.

I could go on and on and on. But I won't because I have made my point.

Just remember - there is no free lunch...

I agree with all of that, that isn't what this is about, it is about taxing your wages and the difference between wages and income tax.

I think she was merely stating that she watched something interesting and wanted to comment on it. I did not hear her say she fell for every word of it. Did you guys have to bash her for posting something that she thought was interesting? If you want to talk taxes, about we bash the fact that the IRS taxes "gift/prize" money/objects? Now, I'm sorry but I can understand taxing wages - I like to have educated children and all the rest that comes from living in a society with awesome infrastructure. But, to tax my poor little (o.k. not so little) winnings from a freebie site - Going too far I say!

Already stupid. I closed it when it said J.P. Morgan / Rockafeller worked to get income tax laws passed. Thats the single stupidest idea ever. Why would these two business tycoons want to give 50% Of their money to the government through income tax? It would be in THEIR best interest for the Income tax laws to have not passed. I don't agree with income tax, But this video blows based on this single event. Alt F4'd it.

Prior to World War 1, There was no icome tax. And the U.S government said that after the war, They'll get rid of the Income Tax, Never happened. The problem today is the government does more then it should. The government has no place regulating everything. Public education is a waste of tax dollars. Privatize it, And it'd be better for everyone. FDA? Another bonfire of tax dollars. Without the FDA the private sector will fulfill its role. Just like Credit ratings, Private companies assign ratings. Same with the diamond market, Private companies certify stones, Some more reputable then others. A private company will take over the role of the FDA. Social Security? Another huge chunk of the federal budget... Social securit is a legalized ponzi scam. Fact, anda socialist policy. Why should I be FORCED to give the government my money just to get it back in the future? Make it optional or eliminate it. I can go on, our government is a terrible at managing OUR money. Vote Libertarian.

If there is a sales tax on everything federally instead of just an income tax, all the illegal immigrants will actualy be paying tax to live and buy things here! hurrah.

And for those of us who can't watch this (work ( ) will somebody please post the cliff notes from this film?

And a federal sales tax is fine for me as long as I don't have to pay 20% tax on my food.
