I have read a ton of good things about mopeds, so I am looking at purchasing one. Any advice on what I should buy/where I should buy it from?

Do you have any local dealers in your area? I am thinking about getting a bike

I'm hoping to get one of these, but it depends on if you want a vintage scooter or one of the newer shark-like mopeds.

The vintage ones look nice, I always look at them on eBay. I should get one but it would get stolen from me knowing my luck. My EXBF had a vintage one he kept on his boat so when he would dock he could ride around and get supplies.

Ehh, I'd like to stray away from vintage scooters.

vintage scooters look like crap compared to the modern models
http/" alt=""/img407.imageshack.us/img="407/8750/scootergu4.jpg[" alt=""/imgbfcf114023]
this is where its at D ive been joyriding so much ive managed to put 40 miles on it in only 2 days and i still have plenty of gas left.

I would recommend buying one from your local dealer. When you buy them online they usually dont come assembled. If you dont mind the assembly and wanna save about 100-200 bucks then go for it.

in most states your scooter has to be under 50cc to legal unless you have a class m lincense. I peeled off the label and im taking my chances with my 150cc orange beast. I passed by 3 cops today and didnt get so much as a second look. )

if you're gonna go the online rotue id get this beauty from
http//www.scootersfactory.com/

http//www.scootersfactory.com/150cc-lance-150-moped-scooter-p-455.html

or

http//www.scootersfactory.com/150cc-lance-interceptor-150-moped-scooter-p-446.html

both are $1500 and are almost fully assembled

with a top speed of 65mph why rush to get a bike and go through the expense of tags and fees and insurance and all that bullshit. Scooters have such good gas mileage that they end up paying for themselves in about a year or so

dont you have to wait in line at the dmv and pay some fee to renew your tags? and how much is your insurance? motorcycles usually have better gas mileage than cars, but not enough to jump up and down about. Dont get me wrong, motorcycles are way cooler than a scooter, but theres a lot more responsibility involved in owning one. When i get my class m lincense and save up some money im planning on buying one.

That's the thing, in most states, as long as it's below 50CC, you don't have to have a Motorcycle class license. Depends if you want to pay a few bucks more and take the written and driving test again for a motorcycle.

JUNIOR6886

what i dont get is why some people buy scooters above 150cc
the 250cc touring scooters cost about the same as some motorcycles shock

scooters are like fat girls. fun to ride but not something you want to be seen with. the only people that i see riding them are old guys or those "hip cool" guys (the one's that only shop at urban outfitters and listen to death cab and all that crap) with messenger bags.

Lots of people use scooters here. Cars are a pain, so people that live further from campus ride scooters and park them all outside campus.

CCage is mucho importante amigo. Anything below 80CC (e.g 50CC) will be muy slow, and may not even be streetification legal. Most mopeds under 100CC are no highway legal, so ya. But yea hondas good if you want reliability, if you got da moola shell out for a vesper.

JUNIOR6886

new speed record on the scooter. 70mph )
