Whats the best value/price for a laptop nowadays. Are there any hot deals going around? Whats the best I can do for around 450 or less.

You might be able to grab a used one for eBay for around that price that isn't too shabby. I might have a HP laptop for sale pretty soon. 1 GB ram, DVD burner, 15 inch screen, 100 GB HD.

There's lots of dell's on SD lately for 600 that are descent, but a little pricer I guess than what you are shooting for.

My brother got a good alittle while ago. It was the "laptop of the week" at best I think it was $700 alittle higher than your looking for but 100gb hd 2gb ram cd/dvd burner 15.4 screen pretty nice. HP I think.
