I'm hungry. And I live in a dorm, what do all you dorm dwellers eat when the dining hall closes?

In my stash I have

Ramen
Chef Boyardee
Cheetos
Uncle Bens Rice/Pasta Bowls
Popcorn
Easy Mac
Oranges
Peanut Butter
Marshmallow Fluff
and a forty (someone left it unopened in my fridge)

mind you I only have a fridge and a microwave took cook and store food, like most people.

I generally have the same stuff hanging around....when I run out I just buy more of the same. Tomato soup is a winter exclusive, though. The food here is very very good & all-you-can-eat (most colleges are, I think?) so really food in the dorms is just late night and in-between meals.

The current stash

Ramen Soup (Chicken)
Tomato Soup
Maple & Brown Sugar Instant Oatmeal
Oranges
Gushers
M&M Cookie Bars
Lots of soda
Lots of chips

my dorm food is pathetic

for the past few weeks i didnt have anything(dry spell of just eating out of the vending machines)

but recently i got

Cinnamon Teddy Grahams
Pringles
Flips
YooHoo
Pepsi
HandiSnacks
Mustard Pretzels
Capri Suns

I fear if i buy something like bread or stuff you make i wont use it quick enough but i should start getting some better food

We like to make uh..."meals" out of combinations.

Like, get some Ramen (flavor choice up to you!)
but drain the water, don't make it like soup.

Heat up a Dinty Moore microwave meal (I like the Beef Stew flavor, but chicken and dumplings goes well with chicken flavor Ramen, lol)

Top the noodles with the Dinty meal and voila! You've got..."gourmet." Serves 2-3, depending on how cheap you are. Enjoy.

The food here is really good actually, Its just that the dining hall in my dorm closes at 830 so if I want to eat after that I have to walk down to campus for late night dining, or just make somthing in my room.

Lol

I like how you seem to think it'll be better if you are in the real world.

I work as a computer programmer and I still eat a lot of ramen during lunch time.

Ramen isn't bad, as a matter of fact i love ramen.

My friend has this book of 101 ramen recipes for the college student, its pretty cool.

It has loads of interesting facts too, for example

"If one were to stack all of the ramen consumed by everyone on earth in one day... it would probobly fall over"

Now that is what I call funny!

top ramen is the best...

im not in a dorm or in college but at my house if it's available i'll eat it.. the best flavor is the spicy chile chicken.

my sisters have a bunch of college food (fruit snacks, granola bars, applesauce, wheat things [yum!!!!!]..) i'm not allowed to eat their food but if i'm hungry i'll snitch some secretly )

Hey now! I have a cup ramen sitting on my monitor which is lunch for today. Don't be dissing the cup noodles! You just have to know how to fix them correctly. It's not like I have a range or pots and pans to be able to fix normal ramen here at work!

Haha you said range

adenosine

????

That's usually what I use to make the normal ramen noodles. I guess I could put a microwave safe container into the zapper and zap it for many minutes, but then I'd need a bowl and stuff and I don't have a sink to wash any of it out afterwards.

Range isn't a word I hear very often, people usually just call it a stove. lol.

adenosine

11-02-2005 16:29:52

I usually call it a stove if it has an attached oven, and I'm referring to the entire unit. I'd not have such a thing at work (not enough room), but it would probably be possible to get a small electric range, next to the coffee pot and fridge.

Next thing you know, I'll be made fun of for calling my carbonated sugar water 'pop'.
