Space on ipod

Has anyone come close to fill up a 20 gb ipod?? It seems very hard to do. You would need 5,000 songs. When i get mine, I am not just gonna load every song from all my cd's, im gonna take the ones i LIKE, so i will only get MAYBE 1,000 songs. Which should mean that i might as well just get the mini. I mean, really, would i ever even fill up 1,000 songs?

Well you're not gonna have 1000 songs forever right? Eventually you'll buy/get some more music and you'll have to put more songs in your iPod. Therefore, maybe eventually you'll fill up your iPod.

I tracked it on DHL and it says my iPod is in the city right next mine. I can't get it because they are closed. And tommorrow is Sunday, so I'll just have to wait untill Monday.

well i tried to think of something else instead of my pod too. i thought bout schoool but it made it worse. now, i'm stressed cuz of a paper due.....

I have 4GB free, and that's only because I've only uploaded stuff I knew I wanted on it when I first got it. I have at least 4GB more I could put on there..

i use about 1.4GB

I have used 1.9GB and its gonan be hard to use a lot more... 1 cd uses about 300 megs

I'm using almost 13GB. )

13 gb is a lot, i would use about 2

my ipod is in the same situation as J4320's T-T

mine will be too, in about 2 weeks

i have about 3 gb left on my mini P

that explains how much i've been using it....

Thanks to i2hub, I have a bunch of new albums on here and only 3GB left. D

now the questions is what is the precentage of LEGAL music? wink

the ipod was never intended to be only a mp3 player.

the original intention of it was to have the iPod be mainly a mp3 player, but you can also tag along your business contacts, appointments, and important business files (sorta like a PDA mixed with an external drive).

then the ipod craze caught on and now they only market the music part of it.

lets face it--nobody is really ever going to fill up 20, 40 or 60GBs of music, its just a marketing scheme. BUT, if you do digital video editing (like me), you will love your iPod because you dont kill your PC (or Mac) with big temporary files.

there was an article in some newspaper about that about 1 or 2 years ago--some hollywood producers/editors would carry iPods around simply to transport the videos from studio to studio or location shoot because they can carry it in their pockets and not tote around an external hard drive.

LOL. A portion of my music is direct rips from my own albums. Another big part of it is rips from my friends' collections (e.g. every Blink 182 and Cake album ever produced). Now, with i2hub, I keep finding tons and tons of albums I've been looking for. It's awesome.

you can use it from off campus too, you just have to register and donate to the project. Check out www.i2hub.com , its basically DC++ for the internet 2. You can download anything you want from there, if someone is sharing it.

Does anyone have their own campus file shareing site? We have a server on campus that searches for samba shared folders. It indexes all the files and allows you to connect to the users using netBIOS.

I'm not on campus either - thank God for VPN connections. Try doing it that way - 99% of colleges have VPN access, especially if they use Microsoft Exchange or Lotus Notes for faculty/staff e-mail.

My school DOES have a network dump server that students sometimes use for sharing stuff, although it's never got anything good on it. One time, the only non-technical/school-related folder on the entire server was a directory full of gay male pr0n - literally.

I have the 20G and I'm at 3301 on my song count. So it's not a mater of being hard to fill it up. It a matter of the size of the collection (I know Obvious).

Use what with i2hub?

9 GB of music, and the rest is filled up ALLL the way with files (movies, games, programs)

When I get my iRiver today, I'm gonna have to strip down my collection of 40G on my harddrive to what will fit. Then I have to rip the 200 or so cd's I still have to do.
