I would definitely say the Wii- it's the most innovative, has the best upcoming library and has the best fanbase. The 360 is currently winning, just because of the library it already has. The PS3 will win in the long run though because of the capabilities the system has. Right now, none of the game developers have really mastered the PS3 game, meaning they match up with all the other "next-gen" game systems. The PC will always win because it can do basically anything; however, for it to play games, the price range can rocket pretty high, with all the vid cards and processors.

Well, it ain't a console, but since it's in your list...

PC owns any console if you don't mind spending the money to build a nice rig and keep it updated. Since I live and breathe PC's and am constantly building/upgrading anyway, then PC gets my vote. The level of flexibility and superior audio/video you get from a well-designed PC game leaves any console in the dust.

But talking strictly console, I'll concur with what several others said 360 for now, PS3 in another year or so. PS3 is technologically head & shoulders above the 360, but the dev cycle compared to 360 (which is virtually a x86 PC as far as development is concerned) will keep a solid library of quality titles unavailable for some time to come. I remember PS2 game quality increasing dramatically after it had been on the market for several years. God of War blew me away -- I couldn't believe those graphics were produced on the same old hardware. I'd say the PS3's potential is probably at least 60% untapped at this point.

I consider Wii a novelty that will wane in popularity over time. Nintendo has always had its fanboys and unique titles that will help it maintain a level of popularity with its loyal customer base, but ultimately gamers go for horsepower and eyecandy. The Wii started out life as a past-gen graphics engine out of the gate, so I think once folks get tired of swinging and punching at their TV's, the craze will die down and the competition will be between 360 and PS3 (until the next-next-next-gen console gets released).

I just find the wii to be more user friendly to people who have never played a console before. I had my parents over on this past weekend and we were playing the wii sports, they loved it. But no way they would ever be able to play the 360, or ps3 game system.

True to that. My friend has a 360..and has GOW and headsets and live and all that good stuff....when he first got it, I thought it was awesome!! I still do! Whenever I'm over at his house i want to play GOW online. A bunch of us will get a ton of beer and play the 360 at his house and have a blast...but when I brought my wii over to his house and had all our friends over with a bunchhh of beer, we played wii sports and rayman rabbits, and I have to say...EVERYONE had a lot more fun with the wii than ever with the 360.

I chose the 360 because of the game variety the online play it can't get any better than that, with Sony i know they will come up top once they get a good set up of games out, while the Nintendo Wii i think Nintendo was out since the Gamecube came out str8 up garbage no offense to anyone just that Nintendo keeps on releasing all this kitty games that just don't seem to get my attention or anyone else's that i know of.

you've got to be in some pretty bad shape to get tired from playing the wii.. if that is true, then you should probably be playing even more. the only game i have found remotely tiring is the boxing game in wii sports. and thats only if you go all out and play multiple times.

As far as sales and profit margin the Wii obviously. They have constantly been selling out of stores since they came out and they didnt even have a hype shortage like the ps3 and 360. I remember 360s being sold out till about mid feb to march but the wii is still in sold out status left and right but the PS3 had a huge profit rate for us resellers. Although the Wii is only 250 its more of a party system like the gamecube but its more innovative. Not sure whats going to happen to PS3 since they havent moved as many units than the other 2 and have losed 2 extremely good titles (DMC, MGS) if they lose god of war and final fantasy things are gonna be looking bad but sony is fuckin rich so in the end no one will fall off.

Its not like there responsible for the shortages its that there so popular and fly off the shelf. I work at CompUSA we got wiis on a regular basis and there gone within 3 hours of when we get them, zelda, wario smooth moves, wii play are constantly gone mario party is going to be the same way. Nintendo came up this year.

Nintendo didnt release like sony did, if i remember sony = 400k nintendo=1m by the end of the year? shortage no popular yes. The DS is the #1 selling handheld system and probably if not close being the #1 selling system in the world. DS is constantly being sold out where i work too they are starting to die down in sales but since christmas they have been selling out like crazy. All it is is the underdog is on top, we have 2 major money companies 1 is the company of the richest person in the world and the other is 1 of the big 4 in the music industry then we have Nintendo although there not sony and M$ rich they probably have a huge profit margin due the sales of the ds and wiis and in the end thats all that matters.

I own a ps1 (sony), xbox (Microsoft), gamecube (Nintendo), wii (nindendo)

I love them all.

Now of course the 360 and ps3 have better graphics, better games ..etc

I don't really care about graphics really, i just want technology that is fun to play. And the wii is FUN to play, i haven't gotten board from it yet, I just got the new sonic game, and it's not easy!!

I have played the 360 and it's a blast, i own a wii and it's a blast...we don't really have to argue over this topic ...lets all get along )

Man you just dont get it. Of course there will be people hacking and getting free games for the Wii but Nintendo has a pretty loyal fanbase. With the starting price being only $250 peple can buy more games with it and it even comes with a game. When was the last time you bought a system that came with a game? Id expect something I just paid $450 for would come with atleast a microsoft or sony game exclusive game. Its the little things like that that keep Nintendo customers loyal to them and at the end of the its not about how much you love microsoft and xbox its who made the most money. Blaster 360 is not a plug and play mod chip so yeah, I'd like to see your dad play burned games with it after he "plugs" it in.

The 360 is the best out there right now because of its library and live but that'll change as soon as more PS3 games comes out.

The wii has a really limited library right now and the big games won't be out for a while, which has been a big problem with nintendo. A lot of the games out that use motion control just suck.

Yeah. You have to open up the 360 to install it, and all it does is give you external port for the DVD drive SATA. It's not a modchip. You still have to flash the drive yourself with a PC as you would without this thing. And nowadays, the firmware revisions are pretty stable so you don't need to flash it that often.

It's a waste of money especially as it's ugly and overpriced IMO.

MGS is PS3 exclusive, unless they just released this info within the last few hours.

They have lost a few big name titles(Assassins Creed, DMC4), but they 2 that have drove the system since the beginning are still PS3 only. Not to mention, 360 has lost its fair share of exclusives too, such as Oblivion and Mass Effect.

And ya, free online beats paying for online. I don't play video games to meet other nerds online. I play them to play the game. I have real life friends I hang out with.

Oh ya, and to say Gears is the only GoW is ignorant. GoWI and II are both blockbuster games, GoWII has the best graphics of any game on PS2.

MGS was never even announced for 360, and probably will not be. Kojima is not a fan of the 360, the only MG to be on the Box was MGS2S. It was poorly ported and sold miserably. Not to mention, MGS4 was developed to use the full capacity of Blu Ray discs(HD DVDs have about 15 GB of room, 25 dual layer, while Blu Ray has 30 GB normal and 60 dual layered). A considerable amount of condensing would have to be done.
