on another subject how the heck do i mute the gmail notification sound, i have all the windows sounds turned off and i cant find a mute setting. thanks

i dont use gmail notifier, mostly because i use a public computer... and i like going in my inbox, i'm not lazy ;-)

try and search the help files..

GMail notifier uses the Windows mail notification sound. Go to the sound scheme in the sound properties of Control Panel and turn it off there.

Oh, and FYI - GMail now supports the POP3 and SMTP protocols, so you can use software like Outlook or Thunderbird to check your mail.
