Ok...I have a question...
Is it possible to convert a wireless connection into a wired one with some sort of adapter?

Basically. I have Vonage phone service and I have two lines. Each line however is on a different adapter. So I have two adapters. The second one we JUST got, for a fax line.

Anyway... this is my set up.
I have the cable modem which goes to the wireless router...which goes to phone adapter one.

Now...the fax is upstairs, along with a computer running off of wireless internet.

I wanna stick the second phone adapter upstairs with the fax of course...But it needs an ethernet cable plugged in so it will work.
I wanna know if theres some adapter that takes the wireless signal in, and has Ethernet jacks on the back to plug stuff into it. This way, I don't need to run an ethernet cable all the way upstairs for the second phone adapter.

I tried finding something like this but Iunno if something like this even exists. Has anyone ever had an experience like this before?

If you need further explanation please let me know.
I appreciate any help.

EDIT

Here's a picture of basically what it looks like.
Also, The BLACK lines represent any type of wired connections.
The Grey lines represent a wireless connection.

I realize this product specifies gaming consoles, but I've seen it before and just proving it exists. I'm sure it would work with any ethernet product.

Actually you can with the free wireless router I posted in the For Sale / Trade forums. It may be a little complicated to flash the firmware but I can do it for you if you mail it out to me (the free router).

That above product will work too but it is slow as shit.

Does your cable modem or Wireless router have more than one out going Eth cord? If so...

This is what I bought for my 360.[=http//www.amazon.com/Netgear-Powerline-Ethernet-Adapter-XE102US/dp/B0002IHP58]This is what I bought for my 360. It transmits your internet connection through your homes electrical wiring. You can probably find them cheaper on eBay.

P.S. I just ordered one of those free routers, maybe use that?

How did you work it?
Did you have to buy two of these?
one to plug into the router end, and the other to plug into the fax side end?
Edit. Also, for the logitech thing...does anyone know if it works with computers too? or no.

First, another access point or router that can be configured for bridge mode would work.

Secondly, the wireless game adapters do exactly what you're asking. The Logitech one already mentioned uses a proprietary RF protocol so it requires 2 pieces (one on each end) which I think is a little klunky. Others, including Linksys if I'm not mistaken, make 802.11 bridge adapters for things like gaming consoles that convert them to wireless devices basically.

BTW ethernet is ethernet, it doesn't matter if it's to a computer, a game console, or a VoIP adapter.

doesn't an airport express do this?
you plug it in and can plug in a wired in or out connection. You can also chain them and make like an infinity network on cable p

I think that only extends your wireless network.

it has an ethernet port and I know it can act as a stand alone wireless router... I'll have to try it and see.

I got the fonera router today.

Does anyone else know how to flash it so I can use it like a bridge like how Allen626 said?

I pm'd him , but if anyone else knows too, I'd appreciate the help.

Thanks.
