Plagiarism Is this allowed??

Theres a user on the forums thats new and he has copied my topic on the trading post word by word and has been posting it on all the other forums, are people allow to do this? I don't find these fair because it took me quite some time to come up with it and its not fair for this noob to come and copy what i wrote and start posting it as his!!!

I'm sorry to say, while it might not seem fair, it doesn't really seem like it goes against any rules. You don't have a monopoly on the wording, so while it is maybe ethically wrong that they did that, I think that they are entitled to do it.

The only thing you can do is ask them to make their own wording, but I think that there is nothing you can really do. Sorry, man.

Although, I find it odd that they have "Trade with a +30 TR trader", but they only have 25 TR...they should fix that, at the very least.

Can you blame them, though? In about 3 and a half months, you've become the 12 highest trader on FiPG. That shows that you are doing something right, so the obvious thing would be to assume that your wording is key ... and new people want to be just like you ...

Sorry they keep copying your stuff, though. While I think you've done an awesome job trading, I can tell you I haven't copied any of your posts in any form [except quoting it] )

Just like the person who originally wrote the Project Payday information, which was then stolen and passed off as other people's work and they made a ton of money on it. Just to name one example ...

Yea i read about that too and got freaked out even more since i get members from project payday asking me for help all the time shock so i know the stuff i write is at jeopardy if the wrong person gets a hold of it luckily it was just my trading topic this time (

oops ... yes. I wrote it at like 330 in the morning (430 after the switch), so I wasn't thinking clearly. Yes, imitation is the greatest compliment...

I wouldn't condone direct copying, but the guy is obviously trying to duplicate the success that you have had. Can't say that I blame him.

Since gmario has taken to threadcrapping in the guy's thread in the Trading Post, I'd say this thread is a little unnecessary now.

gmario, your TR and the way you conduct trades are what will ultimately keep you ahead of the game. Focus on those instead of polluting the forum and others' threads with petty complaints.
