On March 8, [bc926d0d330]a half-assed overview[/bc926d0d330][=http//www.cleverdude.com/articles/finances/how-i-get-laptops-and-plasma-tvs-for-free/][bc926d0d330]a half-assed overview[/bc926d0d330] of freebie sites hit the front page. That site is undoubtedly receiving heavy traffic today--and a lot of eager newbies that would probably benefit from FiPG's established community and trading module.

I've always thought FiPG deserved to hit Digg's front page, but seeing an ad-ridden blog hit the front page first rekindled my interest.

Meh, it looks a little like spam. But digg is so skeptical...almost nothing makes it to the front page without a few "spam" or "pics or it didn't happen" comments.

As far as I know, you can only digg an article once, unless you create multiple accounts -- which would essentially be the Digg version of fraud. That sort of irony wouldn't really help our cause as good rule-abiding freebiests. ;)

Yeah, definitely do not create multiple accounts. That actually worsens our odds of hitting the front page.

BTW, anybody have any idea why everyone that dugg FiPG is getting karma here on the forum?

Not necessarily; digg has pretty sophisticated algorithms. I've never read any of the analysis of them, but I'm guessing they factor in

1) How many diggs a story gets;
2) How quickly it gets them; and
3) The status of the people digging the story (i.e., the diggs of users with an established history of digging stories that go on to be popular are more heavily weighted).

If I'm right, we have a few things working against us at the moment. I might research it further and give it another shot in a week or two if this attempt fails. But it's still worth digging to test it...

I suggest you send a pm to traders here, as a moderator, and ask them to digg FIPG if they had a good time here and wish to help FIPG.

I think you'll get more duggs since not everyone sees the Off-Topic everyday D
