Anyone else interested in doing one?

I can set it all up, no problem there, and I was thinking $5, maybe $10 for an entry.

If people are interested, post here and we can get it sorted out.

I ran it last year and I'll run it again, if ya'll want. $10 is cool but lets go 1st gets 60%, 2nd gets 30%, 3rd gets 10%?

I like the weighting of rounds too like 1st round wins are 1 point, 2nd round is 2 points, 3rd is 4, and so on...

winner takes all your split of the top 3 is good. As long as first place gets at least 50% of the money and no more than 30% of the field gets payed i'm cool.

I can go either way, just need to run it by the wife first.

a few of other things to think about
1) 'directional' schools always seem to kick ass
- eastern kentucky
- central conn state
- north texas

2) 'state' schools are always strong
- jackson state
- wright state
- weber state
- michigan state
- new mexico state
- washington state
- long beach state

3) schools that are a combo of 1 and 2
- central conn state (definately a final four team).

Texas over NC in the sweet 16. Georgetown over Texas in the elite 8.

I would consider changing you bracket alittle bit man. 3 #1's is very unlikely.

as an alum i can dream cant i.....as much as i would love to see that...i dont think that Neitzel has the support to get past NC...but stranger things have happened...and as long as Izzo is running things...we made it to the final 4 in 2005 with a team that wasnt as strong

I'm taking MSU over Marquette in the first round. But theres no way either one of those teams can knock off NC. In fact if NC wasn't (most likely) playing Texas in the sweet 16 I think they would have a real shot at the final four.

I think people favor the teams they like to much. If you wanna make money in these you have to set favorites aside and just look at the match ups.

oden has only been playing half the game due to foul trouble. as indimiating as he is, i'm not really impressed with his athletic ability. i think hibbert has the size and athletic ability to match him (and possibly has a bit of an advantage).

as for ucla/florida, ucla made kansas look like a jv team saturday night. florida has experience and might be more athletic/physical than kansas, but ucla is definately better defensively and has a grudge coming off last year's loss.

The key factor in a game with Georgetown and Ohio State is whichever big man gets in foul trouble first. The thing about Hibbert though is he usually has points and rebounds to go along with his fouls but lately Oden has been coming short on points, with just a few rebounds when he gets into foul trouble. Another factor to consider in that match up is that Oden gets a lot of offensive rebounds for his points. (IE tip slams) I'm not so sure he will be able to do that with Hibbert in there, who was grabbing rebounds from UNC while standing flat-footed. lol

Of course, I'm going to say Hibbert has the upper hand but these are just things to think about and things I'd like to see debated against.

I've got 3/4 final four teams. The olny one I got wrong was Texas A&M. But I had the loosing to gtown D. I have florida over UCLA, Gtown over Ohio State. Florida Over Gtown in the final. I'm pretty confident that i'll place. It will probably be 2nd again. I have more possible points than everyone except for bullseye4u. But if gtown beats ohio state I may be able to take first.

Okay im a huge Buckeye fan and I couldnt be more proud of them. There is one problem though.

The reason why I didnt pick my team to go very far is just simply because they are not good enough to be here right now.

They deserved to lose to Tennessee but somehow managed to escape. I just think that anyone who picked my Buckeyes to win it all, is insane. If you look at how they match up with all the teams they lost to (florida, UNC, Wisconson), you see that they deserved to lose those games just because they didnt match up to them. ODEN is NOT a scorer, so id say 14-18 pts for him is just average. Hell, he wont be that good in the NBA.Mcconnely Jr is the man though. Everyone is like "OMG no one can beat us b/c we have Oden," I just laugh. I mean come on, they are a BIG 10 team, but then again look at what ILLI did a few years ago.


So for someone to say "I knew that they were good enough to win it all," just makes me sick. You would seem to have no clue what you are doing. This is what pisses me off about these kinda pools, people think that they know it all and "have skill." This is similar to when I picked Syracuse to win it all 5 yrs ago or so, I got lucky. I picked a team that was hot and got lucky.

The buckeyes are a good team and ill give them that, I hope they do win it all (im looking forward to a BCS rematch).
