Hello all Mac followers and fanboys,

Just wanted to call this little gathering to see if anyone had heard anything about any new Macbook's coming out. I saw some concept pictures on Digg for one that had a disc drive that popped out on the bottom. Pretty cool concept but it would seem like it would get annoying.

Also, what are your thoughts on Leopard? I think it will do nicely against Vista and I can't wait! Some of the features are incredible.

The patent for the bottom loading disc drive is neat, I saw that a few weeks ago on either Engadget or Gizmodo. Leopard is going to beat Vista like nothing (see the latest Get a Mac ad concerning Vista).

No new Macbooks rumored/announced yet though.

That's how it normally is, I'm so scared to buy one now though because I'm afraid they will come out with something 5x faster which 10x more cool features. (

I have to disagree with you completely, although I wouldn't mind if it did. I'm a consumer, I will go with what is best, and if windows can be improved upon and leopard beats it, great! I wouldn't mind having a mac myself...

If Macs can be more technically specific (appeal to that crowd) for example, gaming. Then I wouldn't mind getting a Mac. Right now their OS is sorta limiting in that area.

Well, I got my Core Duo Macbook back during their "Perfect Companion" and "Major in Mac" promotions ($179 off any Nano/Video with purchase of a Macbook AND $100 off any printer with purchase). I got a free copier/scanner/printer combo with it and a 2GB Nano.

Then September rolled around and the Core2Duos came out. I paid $1340-ish for my upgraded configuration (80GB HDD, 1GB RAM) only to find out that the 2.0GhZ Core2Duo in white had those standard... WITH a dual layer SuperDrive instead of a non-DL. Oh and for only $1099.

Ehh. I'm fine with my CoreDuo. Oh and mine doesn't have 802.11n

The one thing that I don't like about Apple is that you can't manually upgrade stuff without voiding your warranty (and/or buying a new Mac when it comes to upgrading processors and such).

I suggest get the Core2Duo, or wait if you want.

Well, I have Vista boot camped on my Macbook and I'll tell you this

-It's still clunky
-It's crazily permission-based (see the new Get a Mac ad)
-It's still Windows (the reason why I moved to a Mac)

Take a look at Leopard =]

There's no new Macbooks rumored/announced yet so don't worry!

Although the 15-inch Macbook rumor HAS been flying around for quite some time...

Oh and I heard a rumor about Leopard being released as early as March (Apple says "Spring 2007" though ThinkSecret reports that Leopard is finishing production quickly and will be released side-by-side with iWork '07)

I don't know about macs.. they're nice and all but again the gaming field is held down by MS, and I never hear about people upgrading their macs so thats also another reason why I haven't switched yet.

But, if you use BootCamp and then dual boot into Vista, DirectX 10 should work flawlessly, shouldn't it? Oh wait, I shouldn't even ask... Macs use Intel processors and since you dual booted into Vista, it shouldn't make a difference right? lol wow I'm retarded

when are they going to make the 13" MacBook Pro? I expected that, but i guess the black macbook is kind of their 12" Powerbook...

I didn't say it was real -.- if you read my previous posts I did mention that everything is RUMORED.

As a Mac user I know that all rumors are just speculation and are almost never on the spot.
