Who can help me choose a Character in Oblivion?!

Hey All,
Ok so i just got a new video card and now can finally play oblivion and have all its graphics turned up. but thats aside from the point. i am wanting a character thats very well rounded. both great with weapons, but still can do magic and what not. if i have to lean towards one side it would be weapon fighting. but some spells would be cool. any suggestions?

I was an archer, I don't remember what class though. They're fun because when you get in trouble with guards you can run away and shoot at the same time and kill them in the outskirts and get out of going to jail. But they're really bad close quarters. It's been almost a year since I've played it.

i dont remember what I chose for the 360 mode.
there are some faqs with advice at gamefaqs.com.
some pointers from my experience. do not chose a character who has an ability that u can get from skills/magic. that is a waste.
same goes for the sign powers

I was a Dark Elf, I forget what sign I was born under though.

Go Dark Elf, good all-around character, that's why I chose it.

ahh thats what i was. i was born under the mage sign that gives 50 mana.
i forgot what i actually did with him. i think he used a sword and destruction spells

ARCHER OR THIEF FTW

Fav Races are

Dark Elf (Dunmer)
Khajit
Imperial

The only reason I would not be a dark elf is that you level up based on your races inherent ability. I summoned ancestor ghost like 5 times total, lol. I like the Imperial (which Im playing now) and in Morrowind Khajit was my favorite cause Night Eye rocks.

you could make a night eye spell in the arcane place.

khajts are very good at being a thief.

has anyone finished the dark brother hood quests?

i have verious items enchanted with night eye, but using it to level up is the best.

I finished the whole game Im just waiting patiently for the new 30+ hours add on to come out (sigh)

i think the best race is the breton, the best sign is atronauch

atronauch? isnt that the one where mana doesn't regenerate? whats the point of that ( unless your an alchemist)
