Are you sure you just didn't type in the wrong password...more than once?

If you email yahoo! support they should be able to verify your identity somehow, like your personal information and what contacts you have.

Get BiFrost, send an email to it saying download your monthly checking account statement or something and make him download the BiFrost virus, shut down his PC with it then when he re-boots just use his PC that's already logged into your yahoo account to change the pass back, then screw up his PC as much as you can, or just delete everything on his HDD if you can.

That's why you need to have secure passwords, not just lowercase letters.

But try emailing them again, or hack the account back, because when my hotmail account got pwnd a few days ago, I emailed Windows Live support and they helped me reset my password. All I had to do was answer a bunch of questions about my account and then they sent the reset link.

About two years back, my yahoo account and my freepsps.com account got hacked into peices. The person changed my shipping address on freepsps.com to his own, and just was messing around with the yahoo account I guess. I managed to reset the password on both, and sent CS a message on freepay saying I was hacked, and did nothing on Yahoo. The next day I came home from school and the same thing happened. I did the same thing again....and it happened again! I realized I must have like a keylogger or something on my computer where somebody was just "watching" everything I type, so I formatted it )

Someone may not have hacked it. If you repeated enter the incorrect password Yahoo automatically changes the password to something funny like "HKXUAJLD" and the only way to get that funny password is having it sent to your alternate email address or filling in the requested info (name, zip code, birthdate, and security question answer).

If you contact yahoo and explain them your case they usually offer you one more option. You have to mail them an affidavit statement that they have permission to access your account. You also have to tell then what is in the account (folders, email addresses you sent messages to, email addresses you received messages from, details from messages..... bascially proof that it was your account; be as descriptive as possible). I think they also require a photocopy of your drivers lisence or electric bill or something that proves identity.

Reply back to the message they sent you and let them know that you cannot remember your security question. Ask them if you can mail or fax them proof of identity and tell them the contents of your inbox, then what can do for you. But if when you first signed up for the yahoo account and you did not put your real birthdate and real zip code then I dont know if this will work because it wont match the birthday on your DL.

This happened to someone I know waaaaaay back in 7th grade. Her parents had to fax all kinds of things to them, but eventually it worked. But that was years ago so i dont know if they still do that.

There is another shady way to get it.... but i wont even go there.

Also priya007, here are some tips for you

Whenever you get an email address to anything that requires you to sign in (examples Yahoo, eBay, PayPal, credit cards, even if you are not a memeber), never click on a link to signin from the email message. Open a new browser and type in "paypal.com" Even if the "from" email address says "paypal" or the link contains the word "paypal." Also no company asks for your password or person info through email.

Other people sometimes use my computer, so I never have my passwords automatically saved. If one of them picks up a virus or something accidentally then that could actually jeopardize my account. It isnt that difficult to type in your password manually. It takes 3 extra seconds.

I also would never recommend using the exact same password for everything you have. I vary them. If you cannot keep track then make a note in you journal or whatever. Say for example that you have two email addresses and an instant messenger account
email==someone123@yahoo.comsomeone123@yahoo.com=someone123@yahoo.comsomeone123@yahoo.com/email (password yadda23)
email==random456@gmail.comrandom456@gmail.com=random456@gmail.comrandom456@gmail.com/email (passord yadda4)
AIM sn person777 (password yadda88)

Then make a list somewhere like this
email==someone123@yahoo.comsomeone123@yahoo.com=someone123@yahoo.comsomeone123@yahoo.com/email (password hint y23)
email==random456@gmail.comrandom456@gmail.com=random456@gmail.comrandom456@gmail.com/email (passord hint y4)
AIM sn person777 (password hint y88)

So that way is anyone found the list, they would know the password word was "yadda" just by seeing "y." But you on the other hand would remember "yadda" when seeing "y"

Also, just be careful where other people can see you typing in a password. Some people have nothing better to do in life than read someone else's messages. So be aware when you are typing in your password where other people can see. Log out completely always and clear the history. Then click "return to yahoo mail" and make sure it is asking a new user to sign in.

If you are entering your zip code as 12345 and your birthday as July 4, 1900..... THEN WRITE IT DOWN SOMEWHERE. Or have one specific "fake identity" that you can remember. Otherwise in cases like these, you cant remember the fake crap you made up. I am thinking you gave a fake securty answer (especially if you cant remember your pet's name). I do that too though. Anyone can find out [i3eabe53913]what city i was born in[/i3eabe53913] or [i3eabe53913]who my childhood hero was[/i3eabe53913]. So my security answer is something unrelated to the question. Make a note of it if you cant remember.
