Holy crap it's snowing hard!

I just shoveled my driveway and when I got to the bottom, there was 2 inches of snow where I had started.... I LOVE snow.

Yeah...it's snowing hard here in Michigan too...Sucks...pry not doing anything tonight b/c of it.

Snow storms are great.... except for driving in.

I have more than you! P We just bought a 9hp 28" blade snowblower to assist our tractor (since it doesn't fit in a lot of places) there is at least 120" of snow on the ground behind my house here. shock

They are great monday through friday in the early AM (around 3 or 4)...Any other time they aren't worth the pain the butt that it causes. I like them at that time b/c I'm a teacher. I think I look forward to snow days more than the students do.

yeah the lake effect has been bad here in buffalo over the last few days. blue sky right now at work. of course it doesnt matter b/c i am not going anywhere until tomorrow am

I'm in michigan too near lake michigan and i couldn't even see a gas station that is like 150 yards from my house the snow was coming down so bad. I'm not going anywhere tonight prolly.

Just finished shoveling the driveway for the third time...

-20F with wind chill in Chicago. Hasn't been this cold for a couple of years.

I'm afraid of what it's going to be like Monday. The high for that day is supposed to be 4 and a low of -2. Before the terrible wind that always blows here.

The roads here are crazy, there and a lot of times where you have to come to a full stop becuase the wind is blowing snow off of the ground and across the road so hard that you can't even see out the windshield.

Yup...I'm officially not going anywhere tonight...

It's been snowing in New mexico too....Way too much!!!
I went for a fast trip to pick up my mom and take her to town yesterday.
It's about an hours drive to mom's from where I'm housesitting and some jerk told me the pass was open, a lonely dirt road between two mountains....It would have cut my driving time in half.
It wasn't open after all, i got four miles down it and hit a huge snow drift. OF course the road was too narrow to turn my truck around right there so i had to go forwards a little since i couldn't see to back up because of the blowing snow.
To make a long story short, i spent 3 hours shoveling my poor toyota out of the drifts, in a total whiteout because of thirty mile an hour winds.
I had ice crusted on my eyelashes by the time i was unstuck. lol
And then to make matters worse it was total drifted back shut when i got turned around!!!!
Luckly i was able to get the truck up to 20 and slam through most of them, only had to dig a few more times.
So much for a fast trip! ended up going the LONG way around, almost a 2 hour drive, then i still had to drive her into town, thats 1 hour each way and then back up to where i'm working!!
I put over 300 miles on my truck, and I'm DAMN tired today. ?
p.s "ALWAYS carry a shovel in your truck, you never know when your going to need it," Thanks mom for always saying that, otherwise i'd still be sitting there.

lol, that's what you get for buying a Japanese truck.

No, thats what i get for listening to a lying fool.
It's not the first toyota i've had....The first one i rolled in a freak hailstorm and the paramidics thought they were going to have to cut bodies out the truck looked so bad. The inside of the cab stayed intact however and we were all ok...my poor truck wasn't though.
If only the tire hadn't blown....sigh.
