I know there are a lot beard fanatics here so I was wondering how do you guys trim your beards? I had one going for about 3 weeks and it got a little too thick for my liking so when I trimmed it with my electric razor, I accidentally took off more in one spot than I meant to. So I shaved the whole thing off because it looked so bad and now I'm starting over. http//forum.freeipodguide.com/smilies_mod/upload/ba6e4cc64518b0f8bd0baff2af28547d.gif[" alt=""/imgd8da5cecfa]

BTW it's so weird right after you shave it off.......feels like you lost something.

I can't grow it long, but I grow it tough. I've dulled blades right out of the package, and even my electric can't always get through a follicle without deciding it's easier to yank it out. (ow)

I wonder if I can get that brushed aluminum effect on my iPod if I just rub it on my face a bit...

I want to grow a 3 day shadow type of look rly rly bad. (

I can grow faint mustaches and sideburns but it's only visible up close. I always shave it off because it looks stupid.

I've heard of people putting rogaine on the areas that they want facial hair. They've actually been successful with it too. I'm skeptical about smearing a chemical like that all over my face though, and I'm not that desperate.

I'll be satisfied when I'm able to grow it like this ---

Beards are supposed to be untrimmed.

I never trim mine, I just let the fucker grow until it gets too itchy. I haven't shaved for about 8 weeks but tonight is the night.

I generally shave about 6 times a year. D

As I am a lady, I have no beard (yet...though by my 65th birthday things may be different...we'll talk then). However I can think of a few ways to put a bit of stuff on the fairway, as it were. one could try the following methods

1) Glue, and yesterday's stubble (kept - i.e. shaken out of the shaver).
2) Brown sharpie marker (for the more permanent effect)
3) Shave a gerbil and make the hair into a semi permanent "beard-wig".

Any testers? Let me know how it works out.

jumps right, the only trimming is the kind that needs to be done with a pair with a pair of scissors.

I always found if I went a week past the itchy beard part it got better, didn't itch and looked cooler.

It's like when you grow your hair out long and it goes through that shit stage. If you can manage to make it through that part then you are out of the woods.

I could probably grow a good beard in about 2 week's time. I'd just never really considered letting one grow. I guess beards are the college-aged kid trend. What's funny is there's this little tuft of hair right below my bottom-lip that could be the start of a nice goatee. Hmm....gives me some ideas...

Me too. And I have a stupid dimple in my chin that looks ridiculous.

I have had my goatee since I was about 17. Pretty much only trimmed it off for school (couldn't have facial hair in my culinary school,) or when I would totally screw it up when trimming. But I have to shave me neck at least every few days or it get itchy beyond belief. And I use a Remington beard trimmer for trimming.

Oh well. I heard that putting red onions on your face stimulates growth but the site didn't provide any evidence or sources. I'm not desperate enough to put an onion on my face every day anyway though.

And the red onion thing sounds like bullshit. I wouldn't rush into growing a beard. You'll have the rest of your life to worry about shaving.
