PS3 from Freepay successfully returned for a giftcard!

A while back I was one of the first people to receive their 20gb PS3 from Freepay (which was ordered from Amazon). I'm happy to say that Amazon was true to their word - they took back the PS3 and hit me up with a gift certificate to the tune of nearly $504 USD!!!

This is a big heads up to anyone who receives a free gift ordered from Amazon and wants to get a gift card to either resell or use to purchase another item. I didn't want the lesser PS3 and trying to resell the 20gb on Ebay would have netted around $450-$465 after fees (due to the ridiculously low demand).

Goto Amazon.com and go into the "your account" area. One of the links on that page says "Return Items" - click that.

You are presented with two options "i ordered the item" AND "I received the item as a gift". Choose the second option (make absolutely sure you choose the gift option) and then follow the on screen instructions. They specify where to send your package. With insurance and confirmation it was around $17 for me to ship it back.

I am going to have to do that. I got a 20 gb around that I don't want, but no1 wants to pay what it's "worth"

I can't wait to do that when I get mine from Freepay. I don't want a PS3 anymore.

I'm content with my XBOX 360... But I wouldn't mind a PS3 (only for the BD player and Linux). Of course, I would never buy one.

Blah, I would never get a PS3. My Xbox360 is already getting in the way (my brother has one so I never even play mine)

Best Buy is hard to return to for me...

I wish gamestop wasnt a rip off, id rather trade it in there and take like 100 less then mail it back, thats just me cause Im lazy
