Bears Pats

To me the superbowl "game" is pats vs colts, that's going to be more interesting to watch. D I am going going for the saint and pats, but I bet it will be the bears vs pats. Who knows though, I mean the colts could beat the patriots.

like when UM and OSU played and it was the "real championship game" Then they both get their asses kicked in the the bowl's?

Just because the AFC dominated over the NFC during the regular season doesn't mean that we won't have a competitive super bowl.

That's bullshit like I said i'll take the winner of the NFC championship against the winner of the AFC championship to lose by no more than 3 points in the super bowl.

Back in October I said that if the Bears and Colts were to play one another, I'd root for the Bears. Looks like there is a chance that could happen. ) But today, I'm rooting for both.

I'm wearing my Colts tshirt underneath my Bears tshirt. D

Judging by the way this Saints game is going right now, the Bears are there. I think the Colts are better than the Pats just because Peyton Manning is bound to have a good playoff game one of these days. Really wish the Saints were in it though. Reggie Bush is just exciting as heck to watch if that 88 yard TD in the third quarter didn't show you that.

DRay9911

this sucks - the saints had them at the beginning of the third quarter, they just couldn't pull ahead

i hate that stupid pud grossman with a passion and although he learned how to throw on that one drive, he made so many mistakes (throwing off his back foot, missing wide open receivers) the bears won in spite of him (not because of him).

there is absolutely nothing i like about chicago and i hope the cubs go another 50 years without winning a world series now. i hate that asswipe jim belushi too.

make the world a better place, punch a bears fan in the face

i'll be rooting for the afc (even if i have to root for brady).

I'll be rooting AFC as well, but you can't deny the Bears defense. I agree Grossman will be the downfall of the team, but besides him they have a great team (OL, RB, WR, and basically the whole defense).

I think the Indy refs need to learn the definition of pass interference. How can they call pass interference against Hobbs when he wasn't touching the reciever(but was face guarding) but not call it when Bethea wasn't even playing the ball(face guarding) and made physical contact(grabbed his arm) with Grahm(followed by the Gostkowski 43 yarder). This amongst other calls. But hey, atleast Tyler got to see a hell of a game, and now I look like an ass for my half time post.

I mean, Indy played a good game, both sides of the ball, and the Patriots defense blew it, but there were more then a couple of questionable calls(or not calls) by the referees.

That basically describes half the people at Purdue, they bandwagon the winning team. It'll be shocking to see how now they have to actually make a decision to chose a team to root for.

Bears fans were being pretty arrogant here, so I would say most Bears fans should be punched P

JJJ, just remember this was supposed to be an off year for us =S. We lost 3-4 good players in the off season and a few to injuries. We positioned our selves for 2 first round draft picks this year, though.

DRay9911

22-01-2007 08:53:52

when people say 'us' and 'we' when referring to the sports teams they like, as though they put on a uniform and play a position - that's another group we need to make the world a better place out of.

and no - rooting for them or considering yourself a 'die hard' fan doesn't mean you can say 'us' and 'we'.

-dan

Excel

22-01-2007 09:02:22

So you are saying the 12th man doesn't affect how teams play? Fans, through the purchase of tickets and memorabilia provide the teams with a huge chunk of money, which they use to better their teams.

What you are trying to argue is equivalent to a person trying to argue that a civilian plays no role in the US government. I see where you're coming from, because in both cases, neither have a DIRECT impact, but to say they don't effect it all is just stupid.

DRay9911

22-01-2007 10:02:26

i'm not saying that fans don't have an impact - i'm saying they shouldn't use "us" and "we", because they aren't part of the team.

-dan

CollidgeGraduit

22-01-2007 10:09:27

Well, in Green Bay they technically could, because I believe each taxpaying citizen owns some sort of share in the team.

I use "we" and "us" pretty often in referring to the Lions, but I think that's pretty common. "We've got a decent shot next year", or "I imagine the top guys in the draft are cringing at the thought of having to play for us". No shame in feeling like you're a part of your favorite team.

I'll be rooting for the Bears - for two reasons. One, I'd love to see a team from the NFC North (except for the Packers) win it all. Two, I just hate Peyton Manning.

Exactly, and that's why I root for the Patriots in the playoffs?

I hate him because in Madden 07 Superstar mode, when my WR was on the Colts, Peyton would spend almost the entire play clock audibling on every down. I don't have anything against him personally, I just carry it over from the video game.

I hate the Packers because they're the Lions' main rival. I lived in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan for 6 years, which was pretty split between Lions and Packers fans.. pretty much everyone up there hates the opposing team with a passion.

Oh yeah, I don't know how many times he blew a chance to win the game, by spending the last two minutes running 5 plays. You can only handle that so many times.

I love the realism of superstar mode, by you only being able to do so much for your team... but if it were realistic, Peyton would have been able to do a much better job at quicker, better audibles.

Very true. The first time I played the Colts in my Franchise he was calling hot routes, audibling, faking the snap, and putting guys in motion on every play. Always ran the play clock down to 1 or 2. I was screaming "just snap the fucking ball!"
