How does the use of pre-pay cards or web certs work? How are they linked to the appropriate billing information that would be used during the authorization process?
I would like to get my offers off of my real card and onto something else. What is the best option --- that works with all of the Gratis, OC, etc programs?
Thanks!

Best Option The Simon Visa Debit Card.
Put some money on it online or at a nearby Simon mall [there is a small processing fee]. Use it.
No problems with any offers yet on it. Really cool.

That actually was the one that I have been leaning towards. Maybe a combination of those & webcerts.
But what I am wondering... The offers always request a CC Name & Billing Address. Do these cards always go through regardless of the Name & Address used?
Thanks for the info!

My wife gets the Simon cards as her bonuses at work, I've been using the leftover ones that have likme 10 bucks on them. Works like a charm. )

I don't like to do this because a large number of the sites aren't secure (grr! spend the $200 or whatever to get an SSL cert you moron offer advertisers). Therefore I like to use the single use card numbers I get from Discover (I think Citi has a similar program).
You're covered a lot more with a real credit card rather than a debit card, despite what the bank would like you to believe.

Money lost?
More like money saved.
I bought a vacation package a few weeks ago and was able to save a bit by taking advantage of the free car rental insurance that I get by putting the money on my Discover. Read the list of benefits of a platinum debit card (like the one that BoA gave me), then read the list of benefits of even a lower benefit level card (like the Discover Titanium) and tell me that the CC doesn't have a better line up.
Sure you can shoot yourself in the foot with debt, but the Discover has many advantages over normal debit cards.

First of all, I am a full time student and I don't work therefore, I cannot get myself a discover card. And since you seem to talk about vacations, etc, why don't you just buy the items on these free sites? You come off cocky and like you have all the money in the world...
why even bother with these hastles when you can afford it.

Yeah right, Discover is hella lax about who they'll sign up. They even actively market to broke college students. They are the easiest ones to get to accumulate huge debt!
I don't have all the money in the world, it's limited. Why do I do these free sites? CUZ IT'S FREE! The free goods are way more sweet than ones I had to pay for. I got other things to put my money into; for example, I've had to pay over $4k in dental bills in the last few months and it's really put a cramp on my finances.

what is lax?
anyway, no, i tried to sign up for a discover card a few months back, i was denied so that pretty much sums up why i have stuck to the only thing i can get my hands on. so if its just a special youre hearing about or is currently a special, tell me when the appropriate time is to sign up.

My WebCert isn't working on GreatFun or eFax. I purchased it yesterday, and it's got $18 on it. Anything weird???? Does anyone have one I can PayPal you the money for? I need it RIGHT NOW.
