What do I do now? I logged into my account, posted an auction, and there is no problem. What happened?

Why did they send u this? Did it come right out of the blue?

Send an email to ebay. That's mostly likely not actually from ebay. I've received those before.

send it to email==spoof@ebay.comspoof@ebay.com=spoof@ebay.comspoof@ebay.com/email. That is likely a fake, and if you typed your password through that link, you might want to change it immediately.

How many warnings did you get?

It was COMPLETELY out of the blue. I had listed auctions for free stuff and had received "LP Cancellation Notices" (4 of them to be precise), but I would think those would not fall under "falsification of information". The address looked real enough "suspend@ebay.com". I don't believe you could falsify that unless it's a "reply-to". My account is still usable though. It's really weird. I'm sending an e-mail to email==spoof@ebay.comspoof@ebay.com=spoof@ebay.comspoof@ebay.com/email and forwarding it.

dont look @ the send address, look @ the 'login here' link near the end, usually it will be some http//ip address/www.ebay.com/ making it look 'real'. As said before, send anything to email==spoof@ebay.comspoof@ebay.com=spoof@ebay.comspoof@ebay.com/email, or paypal ones to email==spoof@paypal.comspoof@paypal.com=spoof@paypal.comspoof@paypal.com/email. They will investigate them, then forward them to the proper authorities.

Also as a word of warning, there are a LOT of similar type emails sent from banks saying they believe your account has fraudulent activities and whatnot going on, and to log in and make sure there isn't. Generally just goto your banks website, find the support email for 'phishing' or 'spoof' emails, and forward it there.

good.
any "from" field can be masked. most programs out there dont let you do that (Apple Mail, Outlook, Thunderbird...), but some edgy programs spammers use do. The only way you can make sure its from ebay is looking at the detailed email header, which shows which server send the email to another server, which routed to your ISP, which routed to your inbox. If it were really eBay, it would have a trace of an eBay IP address in there.

Here's the link it gave me http//213.136.106.214/cetig/.images/index.html. LOL. I just put it out and realized. That was the address, but the text was something else. SPOOF!

I've gotten a couple myself...almost got suckered but for some reason I glanced at the address bar and saw that it wasn't what it should have been.

I NEVER login from a link in an email. If I get an email asking me to update something in my account, I close the email, open a browser and go directly to the site.

Simple.

I also do that, normally, however...this time I was ready to do it I think because I use a separate email for eBay business and I never get spam to it.

'Twas a spoof. I sent it to email==spoof@ebay.comspoof@ebay.com=spoof@ebay.comspoof@ebay.com/email, and I got a response that it was fake. Thanks for your help!
