I placed third on my FBLA regionals exam!

Yup. I took the Technology Concepts exam for the FBLA regionals competition, against other schools in my county. There are like tons of other exams, but you can only take one, and you have to qualify to take it. FBLA is a club by the way (Future Business Leaders of America). Anywho, so there were like 40 other people in the same exam room, and I was worried, because all of them were like talking computers...literally. They didn't stop.

Then the exam started, it was 60 minutes long, 100 questions. First 10 were true/false, and the rest were multiple choice with four choices. They were extremely hard questions and asked about pretty much everything. From Windows, DOS, different commands in DOS, Networking, Hardware, Software, Ports, Printing/Printers, Formatting, Firewire, Debugging, Errors, etc....basically everything.

And the people who place within first to eighth place get to go on to the State Competition, and then Nationals. I placed THIRD. THAT'S RIGHT...[b01ec6ace0f]THIRD[/b01ec6ace0f]. I represented my school lol, they called my name out, everything, got a certificate and all.

I get to go the State Competition. Weeeeeeeeee.

I started the FBLA chapter in my junior high school (8th and 9th grade) - there was an existing chapter in our high school but I ended up being the first 9th grader in our school district joining the club. Anyway, here's my FBLA resume (as far as I can remember...this was a while ago...but if it really mattered I could check)

They won't allow you to qualify for nationals twice in the same event...so I had to pick up Business Ownership...which after I placed 2nd and was told I would go to nationals...I was later notified that the event did not qualify for nationals. Kind of a bummer...but I had a decent career ;)

I was also a member of DECA, and placed in regional/state competitions as well )

Just got back from the state BPA convention, I got 9th in advanced accounting, not sure how many people took it since there were 2 different testing times for it, probably at least 30-40, but up to 60.

I also competed on an economic research team and we placed 1st in the state. We were working on our speech til 230am the day of our presentation, and we had to present at 820am. You write a paper about a topic they give you (this year it was 401ks), and then you present a speech and they ask you questions.

Since we won, we qualified for the national competition in May in New York City. Never been there before, so I'm pretty hyped about going there.
