Hey, I love music, all kinds
I've got over 120gbs of it.
I'm looking for a new genre to listen to though, right now my main is classic rock, but I love rock, all old school rap, some new rap, tech no, even some country. I was listening to some music today, and I heard the beginning to a song and I really like that type of music. It's the beginning of Flowing by 311.
Here's a link to a stream of it

Does anyone know of any music/band/genre that sounds like the beginning of that song? Just nice music to play in the background of stuff?

Thanks for help, and karma will be givin out when one is deserving. Thanks!

Some good background music is a lot of Dave Matthews, because of the saxophone. Most of his 1996 album "Crash" would be good to listen to in the background of parties and stuff like that.

Well, im guessing you have all 311 albums correct??

I would check out some RX Bandits, Faith no More, Swollan Members, Blackalicious, Demigodz, etc

You could have bumped the official music thread. I don't care though, either way. It doesn't bother me. I think I'll go bump it for the hell of it though.

That's probably not your style but for some reason I was just reminded of this song from the one you posted. I think The Get Up Kids have been my most listened to band of all time and probably my favorite. It's classified as emo but they aren't a bunch of crybaby teens with makeup on wearing black. I can't stand any of today's modern "emo".

^You won't do it

I'd really respond to this but I have an itching feeling you really think techno is two words oops

No but Foo Fighters and Stone Sour is good.

I just wanted to rant really... I wasn't really trying to make my song pertain to the sample he provided. Also, he said he listens to all kinds of rock and he's looking for a new style and genre. My post was better than nothing at all IMO.

Postal Service, sort of sounds like that. Their album is pretty good too.
You might remember some of the songs if you watched the OC.
