get cash back like target.

Go To Target>>Buy like a pack of gum or something cheap>>Pay for it with the card>>Select CashBack. I think theres a maximum of like $50 per perchuse.

It's more than $50. I used to work at Walgreen's and people got $100 all the time.

what you're describing is a debit transaction and while visa and mc giftcards frequently allow them, i have never seen an amex giftcard that does. you are shit outta luck unless you want to pay 5.8% + $.60 to "launder" it through paypal

You can always just buy whatever, it's as good as cash.

Well, you can't roll it into a joint when you're desperate. That's where cash has it beat. ;)

You cannot use it at an ATM because there is no PIN number assigned to it. At the Kroger I work at, I normally get cash back through my debit card. With credit cards and gift cards you can't. The reason for this is because you can just go steal someone's credit card, buy a drink, and get all the money out at self-checkout (U-Scan).

Debit cards are acceptable (and credit cards that can be processed as a debit, usually when you have cash advance enabled with your credit card company) because you have to enter a pin number.

Your only hope is going to be to find a friend with a merchant account or use a paypal account to get your funds into an account you can access. You may lose a few cents/dollars, but youll lose that anyway with gift cards. I always leave a couple dollars or cents on my gift card. Hell my time to put the card in my pocket is worth more than the balance on the card.

If it has a PIN and it's debit, you can go to the post office and buy a money order. It only costs around $1.You can't buy a MO with credit though.

I was able to use a gift card without a pin to buy a money order because my Post office is tiny and their money order machine is the old fasioned crank kind and not hooked up to the computers.

and that's kinda what im aiming for.

i called the compony and they said that they don't assign PIN numbers to their gift card's.

and i really don't wanna wait a week or something for $20.

i guess i'll just have to use it when it's need'd.

Thanks for the help anyway
