Spanish Final

I have to pass Spanish 2. I have a 66 semester average right now. On the final, if I get a 100 on it, I will have a 70.1 semester average. Therefore, I have to pass the final with a 100... ( The final is on Thursday, the day after tomorrow. What are the odds I can do it? I dont know hardly anything that we've covered this year. I am going to study everything spanish related. Even if I do that, I will probably still miss ONE question ( . Any ideas? Oh yea, and I can't cheat. The desks are spread 5 feet apart and monitors walking in between rows checking for notes and other things you can cheat with.

Sorry, but I dont think youll get a 100 since you hardly know anything. You shouldve done Advantage language, haha

12-12-2006 13:29:20

[b94d66c48ae]This is rediculous[/b94d66c48ae]... and I love how your reason for not cheating is because the space between desks is too large and the fact that there will be proctors. If I was fluent in spanish I wouldn't help you.

12-12-2006 14:04:55

Maybe this is a reason that you should've paid attention in class.

Only thing I can say to you is that you're not getting a 70.1 average. Should've paid attention in class...or kept the foreign language offer.

benner410

Because that is the only way that you are going to get a 100. And to whoever asked about the passing percentage, it depends on the school you go to, when i was in elementary school passing was 59.5 but in middle and high school its a 69.5

Maybe you should be studying spanish instead of doing math equations.

I have a D- in biology right now, and I just came back from the final. I pretty much aced it; I've been studying my ass off the last few days. I entered the semester later so this final can boost my score up to like a B-. So it's possible for you to pass.

But that was an essay test, and I passed by memorizing the essay beforehand (copied it over and over like a dozen times, at least), not multiple choice. So you're likely fucked.

GET OFF THIS FORUM AND STUDY HARDCORE, YOU IDIOT.

How could you have wasted an entire semest?

Okay, since you asked for advice though, here is what I have to offer
I dont know the structure of your final, but it seems many foreign language exams have a mixture of matching, fill in the blanks, multiple choice, short and answer and essay. It the multiple choice and fill-ins it is difficult because it is all or nothing; you cant really get partial credit. So study hard now for that. The essay part, even if you are lost, write as much as you can and use as much of the vocabulary words as you can. You can always get partial credit.
When you are done taking the test, if there were tons of fill ins that you did not know, it's safe to say you did not get the 91. So as soon as the final is over, run to your dorm and make up an extra credit assignment and write a couple essays. Either a review about a spanish article you read, reaction to a movie you watched in class, whatever. Just make sure it is in spanish and correct (have someone proof read it). Even if your teacher never assigned extra credit, turn it in anyway. They might take it into consideration.

Learn the irregular conjugations because they always pop up like crazy on exams. Also know the difference between "por" and "para" because that is a common fill-in-the-blank section.

What did your professor place a lot of emphasis on in class? That is going to be key in the exam.

If you get the to the essay part and honestly have no clue what is being asked, just write a random essay about a topic that you think the question is asking and use a lot of the vocab that you had. The teacher might give
you partial credit thinking you misunderstood the questions, but at least made an effort as opposed to leaving it blank or writing "No comprendo la pregunta, lo siento."

Worst case senerio, you get a D or F. It was your own fault and you know it. Re-take the class (hopefully it's easier the second time around, you you can just add it to your current Spring schedule as opposed to substituting Spanish credits for classes you already signed up for).

We have all been there at one point. I can usually pull the rabbit out of my hat, and seeing as you have a few days still, if you study literally all day (NO RADIO, NO TV, NO PHONE, NO INTERNET) then you can get your 91%. I dont know how many other finals you have though.

Good Luck, FORCE YOURSELF TO STUDY HARD AND DO NOTHING ELSE WEDNESDAY AND THURSDAY MORNING!!!!

I can never cheat. I would feel aweful. Plus i am firm believe in karmic law and lying, cheating, etc comes back to you.

Even if you dont feel bad inside cheating, arent you scared shittless that you'll get caught. Universities kick students out who cheat on finals. Is it worth getting dismissed for????? You got some balls to take a chance like that, even if "the professor leaves the room," "every student in the room has the same copy of the test," etc.

I actually liked Monteverde better. It was a town in the mountains with a population of like less than a thousand people, and it was just nice to know the lay of the land after a day or so. In Heredia I had to keep my guard up for gangs or getting ripped off.

I got lucky with my family too, there were two guys in their 20s and girls 17, 19, and 22 - one of which became my girlfriend 8). I know i'll be going back there in the future

That's exactly what I thought. It is basically academic suicide doing that. I guess we learn from our mistakes though. You can't just skip a year from a foreign language and come back and expect to do well. It will take much catch up, not something wise to do if you are lazy.

I guess I am the only one bugged when people cheat. ? shrug[/quote5705c01627]

Not at all. I absolutely can't stand cheaters. There have been times where I've actually told the teachers when the "I'm too cool to study" kids start cheating off people have actually studied their asses off to get a good grade. It's just a slap in the face to those who pay attention, attend tutoring, and stay up late at nights to study.

People get pissed, but I'd rather have cheating morons be pissed at me while I have the smarties on my side. D[/quote5705c01627]

beat up/hit/kicked/yelled at/slapped/raped much?[/quote5705c01627]

Not even once. People are afraid I might like it. Try it, we'll see.

[quote4c535b6bc6="UberVash"]NYS requires you to take at least one year of Spanish, but for the Advanced Regents Diploma you need to take three. I'm currently half way into Spanish III.

It's not that hard. shrug[/quote4c535b6bc6]

I'll be honest.

I didn't pay much attention in Spanish three for the first three quarters.

Got about 95-97's.

Then the last quarter i payed attention for the regents (im an LI'er)
i ended up getting a 95.

One point off of the writing, and got two reading questions wrong.

I also agree. Spanish is pretty easy...
I'm in Spanish four this year as a junior, however i doubt I'm gonna take Spanish five.
I'm probably going to end up taking American sign language 2 instead (taking ASL 1 this year).
