NBA 07: 360 vs PS3?

Anybody played NBA 07 on both platforms and can give an opinion on the differences, if any?

I'm not normally into basketball video games, but watched a guy playing NBA on a PS3 at the store the other day. The graphics were amazing and it just looked fun as hell. I don't have a PS3 yet (will get one as soon as I can find one), but do have a 360. If it's much better on the PS3 I'll just wait and get it there, otherwise I might just go ahead and get it on the 360 now.

Please, no Microsoft/Sony fanboy hype posts. I'm just looking for a straight gameplay/graphics comparison between the two.

I have it for 360 and it's amazing, I don't ever buy games because I think they're way too expensive but I bought this game for 360 because the graphics and game play was amazing.

You have seen the comparison videos between the 360 and the PS3 games, right? They have a few. Here's a few comparison photos of a bunch of games including NBA 2K7 for the 360 and PS3 (it is NBA 2K7 that you were looking for, wasn't it?). Just keep looking at the details and click next to go to the next page.

It seems that in PS3 games, the details are a little bit better but barely. Right now I'd rather have a 360 because of the online stuff and the customizations achievements (I don't think the PS3 has achievements but I could be wrong).

Anyway, you might be able to compare the NBA versions on www.gametrailers.com by looking at the NBA trailer for the PS3 then the NBA trailer for the 360.

The online community for XBOX 360 is hard (see impossible) to beat.

Yeah I love the Xbox 360 Live community. I don't think it's something that Sony will be able to match. When I look at the graphics comparisons, the only real difference seems to be the light and darkness. In some games the 360 is more bright, and in others the PS3 is more bright. The PS3 may have a tad bit more detail but they both look really similar.

We probably shouldn't judge too soon though because the 360 has had a year to update and it also had time to let the developers get used to working with it and stuff while the PS3 is just starting up. I've heard that many developers don't like working with the PS3's engine because it's annoying or something (but that was from an Xbox fansite so you'd probably have to look further into it).

Anyway, when my PS3 comes from Freepay, I'm still not sure if I'm gonna open it and keep it. The Xbox 360 seems more entertaining to me right now. Most of the games coming out will be on both platforms anyway, and there seems to be such a small difference in graphics right now. Also, I don't really even want any of the games that are exclusive to the PS3 while I would kill to get Halo 3. lol

Be sure not to confuse the different releases (kind of hard, since it is confusing).

NBA 07 is done by Sony, and is for PS3 only (talking next gen, not ps2 or xbox)
NBA Live 07 is by EA, and is for XBOX360 only
NBA 2k7 is by Take2 and is for both XBOX360 and PS3

I think NBA 2k7 on the 360 is amazing, much better than Live 07. Both the PS3 and 360 versions are the best reviewed. The 360 and PS3 versions look the same to me, I don't know about playability. I don't think you can go wrong getting the 360 version. I saw NBA 07 (PS3) at digitallife, and it looked awkward to me (small players, large court - it looked like a soccer game), although it seemed to play well.

The Gamespot comparison says, "The Xbox 360 had better graphics in almost all the games we examined." We'll see how they compare next year.

Ps3 graphisc look a bit distorted, or that just me (on that comparison link)

Now I'm not sure which version I saw being played. I assumed it was EA's, but if it's for 360 only then it couldn't be it. I didn't think it was 2K7, so it was probably the Sony version. However I don't recall it looking awkward or scaled small.

Judging from the side-by-side Gamespot screenshots, it doesn't look like current PS3 games have much if anything over the 360 versions. I'll bet that will change in a a year or so.
