[for us Jews here, since people can't say "Happy Holidays"...it always has to be related to Christmas...so...HANUKKAH! D]

That's right! You can procrastinate all you want but the Hanukkah season is upon us. Take a moment to reflect what it might mean to you other than blinking Menorahs and crazed shopping trips. I think we have a great group of people that use this forum (for the most part) and it would be nice if we could extend the holiday spirit here as well.

Here are some suggestions I made last year for how we can all "give" in our online community

1. I'm sure I'm not alone in saying FiPG has helped me get the free stuff that I have today. Admin runs a tight website and keeps it quality. He also puts up with a lot of our crap. Please go here [=http//www.freeipodguide.com/donate]here for more information and to securely donate![/color58ebba5694]

2. In addition, we have a group of great site admins/mods that devote a lot of thankless, payless hours to keep the forums running smoothly. Let them know you're thankful - Send them a e-card, some leftover $ in your Paypal account, even just a quick pm. Here are our mods[/color58ebba5694]

CollidgeGraduit
comppimp
dmorris68
doylnea
Fugger
Juinor6886
KeithA
srichter
theysayjump
Wolfeman[/color58ebba5694]

3. The price of referrals these days is getting ridiculous. Have a heart and cut someone a break when doing a trade. Offer to do the trade for a reasonable amount "for the Hanukkah season"[/color58ebba5694]

4. For the cheap and/or poor people out there, you can give too. Do something that does not require $, such as making a banner or avatar for your fellow FiPG members. Or maybe send a friend some inside information to a great deal. Thoughtful gifts such as those are always appreciated![/color58ebba5694]

5. Finally, for the cheap and lazy, you can just give Karma to people
[/color58ebba5694]
We have a great community here - let's show it off during this Holiday season!

Yeah but seriously though you could have used a bit more creativity rather than just copy/pasting my thread roll

In any case, Happy Hanukkah to anyone who celebrates it!

ALso i think this post was a great idea. I dont know why they are all bagging on his creativity..... the post was about giving back, that is irrelevant to Christmas/Hanukkah/Kwanza/Festivous. The 5 suggestions had nothing to do with the specific holiday. And DJ did a fantastic job with her original list that i'm glad it was copied/pasted.

I think it actually WAS creative that he saw Christmas and made a whole separate Hanukkah thread to be fair. It was actually funny that he just changed the name.

Anyway, maybe we can use the separate threads to discuss whats related to the specific holidays when talking about it.

Three ways to tell if someone is celebrating Chanukah (that's how you spell it)

1. They have a Menorah with burning candles on their windowsill.
2. Their house smells like Latkes (fried potato pancakes).
3. They have tons of foil-wrapped chocolate coins (Chanukah "gelt") lying around.

Chanukah, FTW!

I gotta find my menorah. My channukah is going to be a day late...thanks to my brother having to fly in on the same day as the first night of Channukah.

But there is nothing like the taste of your mom's fresh latkes. wink
