Everyone Boycott Techgadgets4free

I was unjustly put on hold after accumulating 17 referrals, Just 1 away from the laptop order. So today I log into my account to see 14 of them were taken away and my account was put on hold. The admin is a total ass and he doesn't have proof of shit. He took a screenshot of what he called "proof" that i had more than one account. Take a look for yourselves guys. just wondering if it wouldn't be an AOL proxy problem. But apparently, from what I read in the thread over there, the owner would put you on hold all the same for using a proxy. That's kind of a silly policy because odds are you're going to end up with AOL users having the same IP... Silly, unless it's just calculated out of 18 greens you're sort of bound to have one who's using a big proxy...

Yah, His policy is stupid. + He didn't have it stated in his TOS that you couldn't use a proxy. Heck, it wasn't listed anywhere that you couldn't use one. He said it got lost when he changed sites or something. w/e

people at GL don't like to see newcomers call the deals they can trade sign-ups for scams. Not that they intend to finish the deal, but because it's their main source to get referrals for deals they know are actually reliable. Be careful when you attack a website like this, it's their daily bread.

They don't care about whether or not the owner of techgadget4free will ship gifts or not, they'll never finish the deal. But don't bash the website though, they need new traders to think it's all good. So there you go, both the owner and the members have a common interest in slamming critiques.

One reaction I don't understand is BlingKing's who used to be around here and, as I seem to remember, was much nicer than this. I find his comment unusually harsh. Wondering what his motivation is in this story...

About proxies the first answer to Collateral's post says it all owners hate proxies. Not because of possible fraud but because if they wanted to be honest (see for instance how the owner of ifreegear dealt with this particular problem), they'd have to do the check up manually, case by case. As the owner of techgadgets4free put it at GL, AOL proxy might be an excuse and that's the crux of the problem. So rather than having to check whether two IPs are coming from an AOL proxy, then check what the cities are, etc. you just decide you'll put people on hold systematically if they use a proxy (and I agree this should be specifically and explicitly laid out in the TOS with a special note to AOL users). AOL users who are lucky enough to know about their ISP's proxy can always open a support ticket afterwards and, I assume, get their hold lifted, but for the others... too bad for them, all they'll get is a (very understandable) feeling that they've been scammed.

I agree with everything l0th(nicely said). I knew I would be slammed with negative comments even before I posted just because my post count was at 1 lol I was very suprised and not suprised by Bling's comment. He is 13, I guess he needs to mature a little. I might have made that comment if I was that age. Of course I did make a small comment back wink Regarding the proxy issue I think they should've had it laid out in their TOS but NOPE. I've already explained this very specifically, you could have been taken off hold, you just need to explain to me that they could have been from AOL proxies and I would do a check on that to verify what your saying is true. But instead all I got was you cursing on the forums and calling my site a scam and having your friend "EatChex89" being really disrespectful, if you think I don't want to ship items out to you only because they are high priced all I say is, wait until Mid-February and look at the proof page and you'll see that you were not the only one ready to place an order for a laptop. If you guys think we're not legit after we ship out our first order (laptops and all) than its not our loss, we don't want ignorant users wink
