I posted a thread a while back about trying to find a new truck with high horses and all that mumbo jumbo. My parents said after what happened to my other one (fipg veterans remember) + the gas, I can't get another one. I now want to find a nice car (yes, a car, not a truck or suv) that gets good mileage, is affordable, and I can upgrade/customize somewhat. I was checking out the Scion TC's, but I want to hear your opinions.
yes one less gas guzzler on the road.
scion tc's are awesome bit bulky but the hp and torque is nice. they have a factory supercharger.

Yaris. Up to 45MPG highway. That, a Prius is good, although I hate them. Honda FIT isn't all that bad either, and it's really good on gas (I think up to 38MPG)

Yeah, that's a reasonable price range. I want an STI but the cheapest I ever found one was 22K and my neighbor bought it. It makes me feel like crap seeing that thing twice a day when I come and go from my house. lol What about the new Jetta? They supposedly start at like 17K but you probably don't like those. The new Camry is also pretty nice but I'm not sure how much they run.

Yeah, I gotta agree, Japanese > all others when it comes to quality, reliability, and resale value.
While I've always had a love affair with BMW's, European auto quality is woefully sub-par, in recent years dipping below even American autos in quality and user satisfaction. Pretty much the only thing that keeps them in business here in NA is the status symbol effect. Actually GM has done a pretty good job of improving their quality in recent years, although Ford & Chrysler are still pretty much sucking.
Although I prefer Toyota/Lexus to Honda, I wouldn't be dissatisfied with either. Personally, you couldn't give me a Mercedes, Saab, or Volvo. Okay, you licouldli give them to me. But I wouldn't buy one, and I'd probably sell the one you gave me and buy a Lexus. P
