i might as well donate the 10cents myself, especially since it costs like 37 or so cents for a stamp..

I always laugh at these sorts of promotions. If you're going to donate something, you may as well donate, and if you're going to donate something, you make as well donate something [i108be3e02c]substantial[/i108be3e02c]. These $0.10 donations do nothing; hell, a $20 does nothing for these big companies—they'll end up paying their accountants more money to balance your donation into their quarterlies.

The best way to donate is to donate on the level of your budget. If you're going to donate $20, donate to your local homeless shelter. If you're going to donate a million bucks, then you can look at the bigger charities. Or if you really want to donate to the bigger charities, do a charity drive and collect all the money in your town and send it in one lump sum, so it makes a difference.

I'm not bashing donations; hell, I've been sponsoring a kid in Chile for about a year now, but it's important to know how to donate effectively. Otherwise you're just doing it for yourself.

[bb342aedd89]OR[/bb342aedd89] just don't buy that monster and donate the $3 to the "save the beaches" foundation...

What I'm trying to tell you is that it will probably cost the STB foundation more money to process your check or whatever than the check is worth. Donate to local charities that aren't dealing with large sums of money if you want to make an actual difference, or raise a lot of money so that your contribution to STB will be worth it.

A case weighs over 30 pounds. Shipping isn't free.

Not really, since you are sending in the tops, not a check. I would think Monster will make a check for the sum of everyone's tops.

Hm, that's odd. It costs quite a bit more than that to ship it.

That's interesting though.
