anyone heard of ioffer.com???

There is something i want from that site (very shady) and the seller accepts paypal. I have not experience with that site. Paypal's site doesnt say anything about specifically protecting purchases from ioffer.

The thing i am getting is over $500, so i dont wanna get scammed.

Any advice or exsperience with ioffer.com??

Thanks

I wouldn't buy anything from a site that I remotely thought was shady or iffy.. not worth the risk

when i said shady, i meant more what they sell. Some of the stuff is illegal. Not all (i'm not getting somehitn illegal).

But my gut is telling me no.

But my greed is telling me yes.

Don't do it. They might just get shut down or something and steak your money. PayPal does but if the site just lies your case will be closed instantly. What item are you wanting? Electronics are probably refurbs or something though. If you want I can find it cheaper somewhere.

ioffer doen't sell stuff directly... it's like eBay.

Just do your research on the sellers you buy from.

Your best bet would be to pay via paypal with your credit card, preferrably AMX.

The thing is, anyone can register. All you need is a valid email address. So technically a seller can make a bunch of different ioffer IDs and have fake transactions to boost their scores.

Ebay it is more difficult to do that. You can sign up for ebay with a yahoo email account, it has to be an edu or something that can actually be linked to you. Plus with ebay, it's more difficult to bid on your own items because they cross check the ip addresses of the bidders with the sellers to prevent shill bidding. I remember someone once posted here that people from his dorm were bidding on his auction and his account go suspended because it popped a red flag for them ip address wise.

BUT STAYING ON MY SUBJECT..... I am just nervous. If I sent this seller $510 and I get nothing and pay with my Amex credit card via paypal, [b00d2237c57]i can do a chargeback??? Or how does it work?[/b00d2237c57]

Ya, you file a charegack via AMX and they take care of everything. I actually bought a few things on ioffer and had to do that.
