freeincentives is DIY not refs. I have steered away from most ref sites recently because I don't have the time to coordinate it all, so I have been sticking to mostly DIY. So I guess it comes down to whether you like refs or DIY.

The thing I don't like about DIY, especially with say electronics or games, is that after the months of waiting and when you get it, it'd outdated. I sent off my certs for a 512mb Shuffle a couple weeks ago, who knows what I'll get, as the site doesn't offer shuffles anymore.

DIY FTW

If you have to pay $25-$30 per ref to only get back $40 per ref after approval, and credits are denied because such and such offer was scammed. It's too much hassel, I did back when they payed out $50 per ref and you only had to pay $20-$25 per ref. Even then people said the prices were too high.

We will be releasing a new site that will have an option for the Zune within a week. There will also be other digital audio players that i am sure no other sites have at the moment.

For those who do not know GiftsInnovations launched on the 1st of october and have already sent over $4000 in free gifts. We are even expecting a bigger response for the new sites. The Zune will be for 6 referrals.

Actually, I don't want one anymore after reading more about it and seeing reviews and such.

It's actually pretty lame.

Yeah, the reviews were prettty bad, I read the engadget one today. They didn't deliver on what they promised, like battery life for example.

15-11-2006 15:51:22

I also didn't know about the sharing feature.

I assumed you could share music, pictures, video's etc with other people and keep the stuff for as long as you wanted, but you can only keep anything you share for 3 days (or use it 3 times).

It's also incompatible with Vista. roll

Is there a way to get all of your itunes music converted to make it playable on the Zune?

michae229

15-11-2006 20:22:56

before you buy a Zune look at this

from the wallsteet journal

[quoteb76eeff41f]Even worse, to buy even a single 99-cent song from the Zune store, you have to purchase blocks of "points" from Microsoft, in increments of at least $5. You can't just click and have the 99 cents deducted from a credit card, as you can with iTunes. You must first add points to your account, then buy songs with these points. So, even if you are buying only one song, you have to allow Microsoft, one of the world's richest companies, to hold on to at least $4.01 of your money until you buy another. And the point system is deceptive. Songs are priced at 79 points, which some people might think means 79 cents. But 79 points actually cost 99 cents.[/quoteb76eeff41f]

15-11-2006 21:51:44

Ohh.. Whoopdie doo.. It's heavier than the iPod and doesn't play songs you bought from iTunes, therefore it must be inferior. roll

As for incompatibility with Vista... Vista isn't even officially released... Keep in mind that the XBOX 360 did not support Windows Vista until recently from the "Fall Update". I'm sure there will be an update for the Zune when Vista hits the shelves (or shortly after). This device is only 1 day old... and The Zune device is just as improvable in terms of firmware upgrades as the XBOX 360... In other words, features can be added and I'm sure that the first Zune update will allow compatibility with Vista.

Did you honestly believe Microsoft would allow you to keep other user's content for as long as you want? You should know that the RIAA would be suing Microsoft's ass off if they would allow such a thing.

CYA (Cover Your Ass)... You can't blame Microsoft for trying to avoid yet another multi million [billion] dollar lawsuit.

The only downside I can see is the whole "Microsoft Point" system for purchasing content... But, there are better sources for obtaining content, so it's pretty much a moot point.

Finally, about that "thief tax" tax that bloke aussie was yammering on about... Do you honestly give a flying fuck? The player is $250 for 30 gigs. It's not like you're paying more for 30 gigs than an iPod... It's [b12a37b198f]exactly the same[/b12a37b198f]... The only one that should have any concern for this is Microsoft themselves... They are the ones taking the loss, not you (the consumer).

I bought one yesterday. I really like the size of the screen. It seems a ton bigger than the ipod. Radio is really nice to have. It is a little big but not something that is noticeable. Battery life isnt great but i am very happy with my it and recommend it to you guys.

You're labeling me as a fanboy and you haven't even heard my opinion of the iPod... roll

The iPod is also a great device... I used to own a 5G video ipod... and just because I personally prefer the Zune over the 5G ipod does not make me a fanboy in anyway... so please don't put words in my mouth.

I'm merely clearing up misconceptions of the Zune (such as incompatibility with Vista) and you accuse me of taking sides... Gee, I thought you were a lot better than that.. I don't consider three sentences as touting it's features (which is a plural word)... Where I merely pointed out one feature of the Zune.

I'm done debating with you on this.
