I want to buy something very powerful, looks nice, and under $20,000. I was thinking about the new Dodge Charger. It has a hemi and looks really good. Or a Dodge Ram 1500 (The new one). What suggestions for a new car can you give me? I want HORSEPOWER.

Buster389

13-11-2006 19:33:45

Im pretty sure the dodge charger with the HEMI is not under $20,000, I can't say i know of a car that is VERY powerful under $20,000. How much HP you thinking?

benner410

13-11-2006 19:48:11

350-400..... the charger comes with 400 stock, and I can get it used 17,000... beat that. I would like it closer to 15 though.

I'd have to agree, you couldn't GIVE me a dodge/chrysler product (okay, well, short of a Viper or a Prowler). The fact that a Charger can be had for $17K after just a year or two when they're 30+K new speaks volumes as to their market value.

The only domestic I'd consider anymore is GM, and only because they've improved themselves quality-wise in the last several years. Ford and Chrysler, OTOH, have steadily declined (well, Chrysler has always been crap IMO, but Ford was pretty good about 10 years ago).

/waits for all the Ford vs Chevy vs Dodge flames to start so I can lock thread. P

I like dodge. I like pickups. I like Texas! I like Ford too, there are no such thing as a European engineered pickup lol

I think fuel economy should be a huge factor in your car. That said, pick ups, and trucks in general, have horrible gas mileage.

Japanese cars FTW

the deprication value on jap cars is amazing they dont go down becuase they are so reliable.

american car are just horrible i will never ever buy one.

ford = crap
gm = getting a bit better
crystler(sp?) = cant sell a car anymore

toyota will beat gm in the near future for the leading auto seller in america

I was thinking about that but they really aren't that attractive looking. To the normal person who doesn't know much about how fast and nice they really are, they're just another car.

I wouldn't want to shell out $20k-$30k for something that looks like it's mediocre.

That's why I want an Audi TT. It reminds me of a Porsche 911 Turbo and it costs around $10-$15k.

Yea the charger has a base HP of 190 and even that one brand new with nothing on it starts at over $20,000 if you want the one with over 400 HP then you have to get the SRT-8 which has 425 and it has a base price of about $35,000 so good luck getting one for under $20,000. in fact good luck getting one for under $30,000

Well people that aren't car fans wouldnt know that the STi has a supercharged 4cyl pushing out 300HP to 4 wheels. So they prolly would think that some idiot put a giant wing and a hood scoop on a subaru impreza.

I agree with you i was just defending J4320. My step dad and i test drove an EVO MR and OGM it was insane. One of the fastest cars i have ever been in.

amir89630

14-11-2006 18:23:43

i don't liek the mustangs. Its just one of the few cars where you can get over 400hp for around 20k (used)

of course i'd take an evo anyday. D

Buster389

14-11-2006 18:28:01

I like the look of the new mustangs. Really the only thing i dont like about them is that they are not a comfortable 4 seater so ill stick with my 4 door mazda 6.

JKirk

14-11-2006 18:35:08

I'd take a STI over an EVO MR anyday honestly. As for the TT with a little over $10K, must be high mileage..

why what is your reasoning

reliablity?

the evo handles better and kills the sti in a quater mile.

im currently working with my cousin on a 750 hp evo beast coming soon )

J4320

14-11-2006 19:27:36

Yeah guys don't get me wrong, I'd much rather have the STi than the Audi TT. The STi is way out of my price range anyway and I was just saying how it looks like an average car that got pimped out with the hood scoop and the massive spoiler.

However I do think the silver STi's are sexy.

That and I just prefer the interior and exterior looks of the STI along with the reliability like you said, Kidd. I don't care if performance-wise the EVO outruns it. If I had either one of those cars I wouldn't drive it stock anyways so it really doesn't matter. lol I don't hate the EVO nor do I think it's a "bad" car I just prefer the STI. They've got a used STI in blue with the gold rims down at the Subaru place here. They said they'd take it for 22K and its got about 17K miles on it which isn't too bad since the new ones run at 35K.

the reason the price is so low because people will automatically think that the car was beat from the start and is abused

90K is a lot of miles for a used car. If you buy that I doubt you will get any resell value out of it by the time you are done with it.
