So, the other night, there was a truck parked half way in my parking stall, i couldn't see and started backing up, next thing I knew I hit a car that was driving by and didn't see me in time, I think it is goin down as being my fault so I'm gonna have to either pay for the damage or send it into my insurance...

Here is the damage it did

I know no one can give a very accurate quote online, but anyone have a guess on how much damage this is?

The bottom part is plastic and I think it will pop right now, but there is probably a little paint touch up needed there, and I'm not sure about the quarter pannel... All of the lights work fine and none were damaged... Thanks for any help here!

$756, with a $9 margin of error.

If the person you hit goes to get an estimate, and then has a shop do the work, you're going to pay for a new bumper cover. There's no way to buff out a gouge like that on the bumper cover. I'd guess Ilanbg's estimate is fairly accurate, all told.

I would just leave it like it is. As long as it runs fine and passes inspection.

Then again, I drive a '90 volvo.

if it was my car i'd probably leave it how it is too, but this is the person who I backed into's car... so they will probably take the money and not fix it, but it is still up to me to pay for the damage...

Yeah, how could he have damaged the [i1034176408]front[/i1034176408] of the car if he [i1034176408]backed[/i1034176408] into someone?

My brother was driving my car and he ran into something somehow. The damage was almost identically to what I have circled above but it was a little deeper and the paint had scraped off. It was like $325 with tax. ?

I meant, how could he have hit the front of [i94fc4e5377]his[/i94fc4e5377] car. I was pointing out why this had to be the other person's car.

Funny story.
Over the summer my mom was sitting parked in her car outside of my sisters summer school working on her laptop. Somebody backed into her, but no damage was done, so my mom said forget about it. Then, as he was pulling out, he hit her again, there was slight damage, maybe 20 dollars worth of paint touch ups. But he was an asshat about it, He wouldn't admit he did anything and said my mom was harassing him and to call the police. So, my mom did, the police came and made a report, and that was that. It turns out the guy was in a rental car, and never told them about the incident, which frustrated them. Long story short, a 20 dollar damage ended up costing him 940 because the shop decided my mom needed a whole new bumper lol

i was almost side-swiped by some bitch in a pt cruiser this morning, she pulled out of a parking lot into the oncoming lane with cars coming at her (going the same direction as me, next to me on my left), and she swerved in front of me almost clipping my front drivers side corner as i laid on my horn

god, women are such shitty drivers

I just got in my very first "accident," though it is barely worth mentioning... I got lucky. I drive a '94 Honda and was quickly and rather haphazardly pulling out of a parking space, cutting the wheel rather hard (not pulling out straight, but turning) and the backside of my car slid accross the front side of a SUV. We were almost parallel, so as you can imagine, there were no dents, just more of a scrape. I was so lucky it was an older SUV! I think I made contact with the rubber gaurd around his front wheel. We couldn't even figure out where I hit him. My car however, has some scuffed up paint on the side and could seriously use a good wash and wax, but it's no big deal. I was so fucking lucky. If it had been a sedan that sit much lower, I'm sure I would be getting someone's car painted.
