Yeah, I tell people they are signing up for a pyramid scheme, and manage to get people to sign up. You just have to sound convincing that it may be a pyramid scheme, but YOU can be a winner if you try hard enough. It also helps to make sure you make the offers sound great and easy to cancel.

I've not been persuing the iPod because I think that it may have already become saturated. Most people have heard of it and already signed up if they wanted one.

IMO, the iPod is still doable, but maybe not on fip.com (or even OC?). You have to find smaller but reliable (in a few cases these are not mutually exclusive adjectives) websites. They often have a few different and interesting offers.

You could try tech4free or iFreeGear for instance. Both have the 20gb iPod for 5 refs. If you think you can get more referrals GetFreeTech has the 40gb for 7 (not a bad deal). If you feel in super-marketing mood, iFreeGear (again) has the iPod photo for 9.

I honestly think I'm going to have a hard time getting more people to sign up for any other site until I get some free merchandise from them. Unfortunatly, I don't even think the Mini Mac is being sold yet, so I bet it'll be a few months before I ever see it. I've tapped almost all my resources just to get the 10 I need for it....

Maybe I'll just make up a nice convincing web page and try some opt-in advertising on the web. Still don't know if I want to do it, especially with the abysmally low response I could see coming from it.

If I had 300 spare dollars lying around I'd get the heater in my car fixed. It's damn cold here in Spokanistan during the winter. Not to mention the freezing rain that we had today that I had to get out and scrape off my windows at red lights because no heater means no defrost.

Altho, if I don't get this Mini Mac, I'm going to have to buy one just to save face with all the people that I told I would get one. (<-- that sentence is really awkward).

I clicked, only because I saw that it was fake and wondered if there was any content, or if the site just didn't exist at all.

I got excited when I thought it was real though, because I need a IAC valve for my car and the exhaust needs to be repaired. When I found out it was just a ruse (http//dictionary.reference.com/search?q=ruse, for those who may not know what a ruse is), I nearly cried.
