I don't read that often, but sometimes I have time in between classes or something and I would like to read a book. Can anyone suggest some good books? I would prefer some humor books, but if there are any other good books that are interesting and keep you wanting to read more, I'll take a look.
A recent book I read was "I hope they server beer in hell" by Tucker Max. I thought it was a very funny book. I also just picked up a copy of Americas Dumbest Criminals, they have some interesting and funny stories in there.

A Confederacy of Dunces by John Kennedy Toole.
It's actually Tucker Max's favorite book, and is fucking hilarious.

The Stranger Beside Me by Anne Rule
Not light reading, but definitely a page turner... its the Ted Bundy story; anne rule was signed to write a book on the serial killer before she found out that her friend, Ted Bundy, was he....
I'm not much of a reader myself, but im finding time for this one, its VERY interresting

Except for the fact that the guy wrote the book saying it was his experience, and it was later uncovered that the book is fiction.

I wouldn't recommend those to a Stephen King novice. ;) Great books, of course, but they can be meaty if you're not used to it.

This is the first thing that popped into my head when I saw the title of this thread.
Something you might find interesting if you grew up in the 80's-90's is Chuck Klosterman's [i36663fc894]Sex, Drugs and Cocoa Puffs[/i36663fc894]. It's all about pop culture back then and how it defines us today.

Only read 2 other stephen king books and I loved the Dark Tower Series. One of the best series I have ever read. I still think about the book all the time 2 years after reading it. Don't read the last few pages though.

you have to read the last chapter as it defines the book as what it truly is. as a fellow writer but no where near the calibre of stephen king it means a lot. the series is one of the best epics of all time
[ib6e0724a1b]Fear and Loathing in Las Vagas[/ib6e0724a1b] or [ib6e0724a1b]Hell's Angels[/ib6e0724a1b] by Hunter S Thompson.

bp who is The Master Plan written by?
This should be a great thread. I wish my online library account had a listing of recent books I've checked out it would make this much easier. I read quite a wide variety so here are some random recommendations
- Freakonomics
- The Hidden Diary of Marie Antoinette
- Bad Twin by "Troup, Gary" - A fake book written just for the LOST universe, it's great
- Sex Wars
- The secret trial of Robert E. Lee
Let's hear more recommendations, people! D

Yeah but you still cant deny that it wasnt a good book. Try it out. I wonder if "My friend Leonard" is fact or fiction. I bought it but have yet to get to read it. School has taken over x
