Look at this stock! In 1984, each share cost about $1,200. That's gone up quite a bit since then, and only in 22 years. Imagine..... I was reading an article on this the other day in Accounting class, I think about a week ago. Since then it's up $4,000. If only I had some money.....

I interviewed with a BH front company once - they are ruthless, single-minded and focused, a totally bad-ass place to work. I left even more impressed with BH than I was before, which was pretty impressed, to say the least.

Berkshire Hathaway rocks my face off in the stock market.

We did a simulation in econ, too bad there was a limit on stock price/total cost, so I couldn't buy any.

Berkshire Hathaway is my employer. )

Well, I work for a subsidiary anyway. My company was an excellent company to start with (which explains why Warren Buffet wanted to own it -- he doesn't buy "bad" companies, as he is not a fixer-upper type of investor), and since the acquisition things have only gotten better as I see it. Losing stock options was a bit of a blow, since we're no longer publicly traded, but compensation has been made elsewhere that more than makes up for it, IMO.

I'm quite happy being Uncle Warren's whipping boy... )
