I have [i690fc9a997][u690fc9a997]a lot[/u690fc9a997][/i690fc9a997] of songs that don't exist on my computer anymore, so my library shows tons of songs that aren't even there, from when Itunes originally scanned my computer for media when I first installed it. I'd like to erase all of the entries in my library, so Itunes can just rescan my computer and so my library will only have valid music in it. Is there a way to do this? Thanx!

Shouldn't you just clear every song from the library and then click and drag your My Music folder (assuming it has all of your music in it) back into iTunes? That's probably the most simple way to do it.

Well, the "My Music" folder doesn't have all of my music in it. When I first installed itunes, it just said "would you like for itunes to scan your computer for media?" and if you said yes, it just added all of your music to it. I can clear the library, but does anyone know how to do that?

How to clear the library? Just click the song at the very top and scroll all the way down to the bottom. Hold down shift and click the last song. Right click and clear all of the songs.

I'd start working on organizing your music and putting it all in one specified folder with many subfolders.

However, that will delete all the artwork and playlists and comments and such.

Instead, use this script[=http//www.dougscripts.com/itunes/scripts/scripts01.php?page=1#removedeadsuper]use this script and have it do it for you.

speaking of itunes, any1 know how to get rid of the "Determining Gapless Playback Information" Analyzing......shit everytime I sync my ipod. It gets so freaking annoying to wait and let them analyze all 600 songs everytime I sync sometime. +k for help

An easier way to do it is go to your media library, hit Ctrl+A (select all), then press delete.

As for the gapless playback message...it's a new functionality in the new iTunes that will playback gapless albums/songs correctly. Such as Tool's Parabol + Parabola songs. The way I think it does it is it looks at the ends/beginnings of songs to see if they fade out or get cut off right in the middle (which would mean to make that song play seamlessly with the next song).

any way to get rid of it though. I got like 600 songs and it took like 10+ minutes each time I sync just for that along. Imagine having like 2000+ songs, it'll probably take around 20+ each time.
I could always eject when that appears but I'm not too sure if thats a good idea.

Well, I actually now have all of my music in there, but none of the songs I purchased (the ones I listen to most) are in the purchased playlist. Is there a way for iTunes to add all of the songs I purchased back into that folder?

Good suggestion, but I just did this, and it checks and validates that the songs are there (because they are, just in the library, not the purchased playlist) but this doesn't put them into the playlist... Any other suggestions?

EDIT Well, I ended up just manually adding all of the songs i purchased ? , so it's all good now! Thanx for all of the help guys!
