"Would you like to locate it?"

Shit, this is annoying.

What's the right folder that itunes reads music at? I normally use my ipod but my ipod over a friends house.

Or should I just dump this shit and use something else?

I think that means its not finding the song on the computer to sync it with the iPod, thats all.

Yeah my ipod resyncs everytime I hook it up so if it cant find the song on the computer it voids it out for some reason. I never use my ipod though it just sit downstairs on my JBL speakers and goes to waste.

Exactly. Did you recently move or delete the file? If you just move the file to another folder it will do that. If I were you I'd organize all of my music, remove all the music from iTunes, and click and drag all of your music back into iTunes. You should be set after that.

I keep all of my music in my My Music folder. Inside of the folder is each artist name as a folder. Inside of the artist name folders are the album folders, inside of the album folders are the songs. It's quite simple.

I just click and drag my entire "My Music" folder into iTunes.

Dump iTunes and get something else like Winamp or Foobar, unless you're on a Mac.

On my wife's Mac in iTunes, I added all of the music on my computer to the Library, that way I don't have to transfer it all onto her Mac. Sometimes if I change the name or tag of a file, or move it, then iTunes can't find the one that the library is looking for.

All you have to do is go to where you moved the file to, or if you didn't move it but just changed the name or tags, then just go to the same place it was and select it.

The reason I stuck with Itunes is becuase I was browsing the winamp forums and found a couple member who claim that winamp messed up their ipods becuase something was messed up with the ipod plugin.

Can you trust a plug-in for a ipod with a program that's not associated with apple?

I use it (Winamp and the plug-in) and haven't had any problems.

If you only heard a couple of complaints as opposed to widespread condemnation, then I wouldn't take it as gospel.
