I'm looking at getting the Netgear WGPS606 wireless printserver router. I currently have a wireless G adapter for my xbox.

Even though this specific router does not have the official xbox live compatibility seal, wouldn't it still work with LIVE, since i am connecting wirelessly....or am i just totally confused??

Yeah, that is a good router. I went with my friend to help him buy a router, and he bought this exact model. I know it works with Xbox Live because thats why he wanted a router. This is an excellent router to play Xbox Live with. Watch out for some Netgear models. They say they support live, but it lags like shit. Same with a couple D-Link.

uhh, might you be confusing this with the WGR614?? That's the current router i have right now and that router IS xbox live compatible (it has the official LIVE seal on it).

As far as I can see, this router i am thinking about buying (WGPS606) has no official LIVE seal on it.....therefore i wonder if it is compatible w/ LIVE??

Yes the Netgear WGPS606 is what I am talking about. It works great with live.

You could return it, depending on where you bought it from. If he bought it somewhere online with no return policy, then he would be screwed.

It's worth noting that the Microsoft XBOX Wireless-G Adapter (MN-740) doesn't support WPA...

However, you can actually flash it using Belkin DGL-3420 firmware (which supports WPA, has a nice web interface and a few other perks)

Everything you need to know to convert your MN-740 to a Belkin DGL-3420

Yeah, you'd want to encrypt it using WPA and not WEP anymore
