Does anyone know of any speculation on when Direct X 10 cards will be released? I want to buy an EVGA card within 90 days of DX10 cards coming out so I can use the step up program.. -)

I heard they will be released mid-November, but the problem is that they are only compatible for Windows Vista.

Tholek said this before, but the step-up program only works for retail eVGA price. Ex. I buy an eVGA video card for $100, and then want to step it up to a 7900GTO. You will subtract $100 from eVGA's price, which is usually at least $50 more than other sellers price like newegg, so basically you would be overpaying for a video card if you used the step-up program.

eVGA's Step-Up is NOT worth it. Only if they allowed it for, say, 1 year would it be worth doing. But 90 days is not long enough to get any real value from your card before having to drop almost the full price of another card, and you end up with only 1 card.

In February I bought two 7800GT"s at about $280 each for a new SLI gaming rig I was building. TWO WEEKS later, the 7900GT's came out for the same price. With the step-up discount, I would have to send my cards back and still pay almost what I could have just paid Newegg or ZZF for new ones.

I just don't understand why eVGA leaves it the way it is. They'd get a better rep by not offering the program at all, than using MSRP as the basis of it. roll
